PAX East 2011: Portal 2 Single-Player Demo

This game looks 'effing amazing. I can't wait.

I like Steve Merchant, but for some reason his voice seems to out of place in this. 
 
Otherwise, it looks great. Unfortunately I'm on of the very few who didn't enjoy the gameplay of Portal...

this is the source engine? well i guess valve doesn't need to bust out a new one after seeing this

Oh my fucking god. So, listening to Jeff talk about this demo on the podcast, I was like "Oh cool, so Portal is still funny." 
Clearly, I was wrong. 
 
 
 
I lost my fucking shit when the space bar thing happened. Oh my god. That was... It was quite simply GENIUS. Or madness. Or both. That MAY have been... 
No, fuck it. That WAS the most I have laughed at intentional OR UNINTENTIONAL humor in a game. 
 
 
And then the room getting smashed apart looked spectacular. Source is still amazing at physics. 
 
 
And then I proceeded to lose my shit three more goddamn times. Army of Mantis men? Hilarious!  
 
Anyway, this game is going to be fuckin' incredible. I cannot fucking WAIT.

This looks like Portal's super Advanced levels on speed. I'll probably never beat this.

Game looks as amazing as ever. That opening reminds me of Star Tours at Disney Land haha
Anyway, looks like it will be another great game by valve. I can't wait.

This game looks really good for using a 7 year old engine. Still, I'd like to see Half-Life 3 (or episode 3) this decade if possible.

Am I the only one that got annoyed by that robot thing in the beginning, it was funny at first but then it kept going for another 3 minutes.

Why are people on page 2 talking about Half Life 3 when Half Life 2 Episode 3 hasn't even come out yet? Its also been almost four years since Episode 2 came out. Half Life 3 isn't coming out for a very long time. I know Valve likes to do it right with their games, but we've been waiting so long. I hope it is worth it. Anyways I can't wait to play Portal 2, but I'm always disappointed when they show stuff about that instead of Episode 3.

EDIT: Wow, that went by really quickly. Anyway, Portal still works, Valve knows what it's doing. Can't wait!

You know, the more I see of Portal, the more I'm convinced that it takes place in the same universe as Half-Life. I got about 60 seconds in before stopping it.  I'm on this day 1.  Gotta go in fresh.

Ok, pretty much this has eclipsed my interest for half life (aside from that fan remake of the first game) in total. A clever riff on the "silent protagonist" trope and the voice of the president from Red Alert 3? This hit a lot of good notes, and seems to be reaching for a wider scope than the first one. 

Looks awesome and hilarious. The writing is great, Wheatley is not annoying, nobody is "trying too hard" (the new "jumping the shark"). You're all a bunch of babies. Get over it.
