As long as this Persona doesn't contain characters from Persona 3 or 4, I'm super fucking on board. I mean, I love P3 andP4, but I've already finished them. I don't need a 47th spin-off.

@jamesjeux007: They announced a 3DS P3 x P4 game, so it is safe to assume P5 will be all new since they already have a game for that (P4A2 as well).

I wish they followed a college schedule, we could be playing this in March instead of November 2014. But whatever, I will wait. I AM SLAVE.

The 48th and 49th spin-off and a sequel to the 47th were announced along side this.

@jamesjeux007: I think the 3DS, vita and P4U2 are the FINAL farewell to those characters, and the tone of this trailer seems WAY darker than P3/4.

I assume it will be like 3 and 4 were with a few references to past games, but nothing major. The P3 and P4 references were great fan service for those familiar with the series, but were clever enough that they didn't detract from the story if you didn't catch them.

Considering that Persona 4 came out in US 2008 (2 years after ps3 and wii), I guess it's not too surprising that Persona 5 would probably come out in US 2015 (2 years after ps4 and xbox one). Though I guess this generation did drag on longer than usual so we'll see how it goes. Definitely excited though.

Next gen is SUPER HOT and all, but I fully expect the PS3 to keep going for a while, like the other PlayStation consoles before it.

Maybe not with AAA character action games or FPS games, but the Japanese RPGs usually come out on around this time. Final Fantasy X/X2 HD is also coming out for PS3 early next year.

It's next gen relative to the previous game in the series...

Awesome!! Like some people said here, I would much rather have a "fresh" start on things, but as long as the characters and plot from P3 P4 are not a key part of P5's story, it will be great. Also, now I really hope my PS3 will not die in 2015...
