Nuts, I was expecting some adventure game with a name like that. Oh well, still watching it.

Posted by BluPotato

Yeah I really thought this was a adventure game, did not expect all this.

Sweet, Vinny and Patrick QL!

Edited by posh

literally translates to "cold blood"

Edited by DeeGee

... did Patrick really just say 'at least it was a girl' in regards to a priest making a move on a child?

That's pretty fucked up.

On the one hand, the music and some of the concepts in this game seem fantastic. On the other hand, it strikes me as a game that could get old quick... I dunno.

Asymmetrical multiplayer could be neat in this game though, one side playing the humans and the other playing the wolves.

I had known about this for a while and just thought the GB dudes would not have time for it.

Damn girl. Always be blessin my bullets.

This has the bacony stink of Canada all over it.

Nobody else thinks the guy sounds a bit like gabe newell?

Posted by drkscyde

Interesting concept, just doesn't look fun to play.

Posted by Spectre_Sigma

I remember seeing this on Greenlight. Glad it was able to make it through.

Really looking forward to giving this game a shot.

Posted by vorpalparasite

Six bullets, more than enough to kill anything that moves.

I would give this game a try, once it's heavily discounted though. I tire of tower defense rather quickly.

A lot of the coverage of this game seems to overlook this fact... Sang-froid is English. It is derived from French, which gives it the dual meaning in this game, but it is used in English, the same way 'avant-garde' is.

Wish the Quick Look had gone up when this game was on sale!

cut scenes look like metalocalypse.

This is a weird as hell game that also looks kinda great somehow. I doubt I'll be spending my time playing it, but I support the idea of the thing.

Edited by Hassun

I didn't know grandpapa Gabe Newell narrated tutorials.

Also Werewolf movies are harder to do because of the effects/make-up needed to make them look good.

Also also Dog Soldiers is fantastic.

"There is no spoon."

I've seen this on Steam for a while now, curious to see if it's any good!

This seems pretty awesome.

Haha, yeah, that is probably the single worst thing Patrick has ever said on mic. Hetero sexual assault really not any better or worse than homo sexual assault.

Let's just pretend he is an edgy standup comic who was trying to get a reaction out of the audience by saying something purposefully inappropriate.

It does and the gameplay is pretty stale because some things are really effective and some things have no use whatsoever to you so you just find yourself using the same methods each day.

A buff for ahh bullet.

really, Vinny + anyone = awesome

Yeah Dog Soldiers!

Yeah, I could see it being one of those games where you decide up front "Well, that trap hardly serves any purpose", so you never put skill points into it, and instead max out your bread and butter that is just straight up damage.

Just out of curiosity, which things did you find to be not very useful? And do you play as the other brother? I think I got that impression from the Rock, Paper, Shotgun review a while back, but Vinny didn't touch on it.

Posted by DedBeet

Well, my patrick hate is confirmed now with him dissin' on werewolves.

Edited by CaptainJudaism

This game is so Canadian it bleeds maple syrup.

Posted by MindChamber

Patrick Just got a bunch of cool points for mentioning Dog Soldiers,.

Its one of the best indie werewolf movies in a long time.

Edited by Joeku

As a Canadian I feel obligated to play this.

Posted by MistaSparkle

Saw this on steam yesterday, but didn't think much of the trailer. Quicklook showed me it was a lot cooler than I thought, though!

That's what I thought!

@deegee: Yeah, I caught that, too.

It was a pathetic attempt at a joke and kinda' surprising coming from someone who usually makes an effort not to be a bigoted douche.

I would hope that @patrickklepek realizes what a fucked up thing that was to say.

Edited by kwang2000

What, did Patrick say something about "trannies" again?

Edited by MeatSim

Wait a minute! this is a tower defense game. I got my eye on you Sang-Froid! I might give this a try sometime though.

Posted by HaltIamReptar

This game is really, really awesome. I bought it a few months ago. It's hard as balls, has werewolves, and a lumberjack.

Posted by Jonny_Anonymous

What was wrong with The Wolfman?

BACK TO WOLVESDALE.

sang-froid (French): composure under pressure; lit. "cold-blooded"

Does this signal the return of 60fps videos for premium members?

Edit: Looks like a few of the other recent videos were 60fps too. (State of Decay, Marvel Heroes, Bioforge Part 3)

Awesome. Finally something to justify the HD downloads over free YouTube streams.

ah Dog Soldiers!

I doubt they will, but I posted a user review of it back when it first came out here.

I would argue its mechanics are closer to Rainbow Six than tower defense. You spend about two-thirds of the game in the Planning Mode. You see the path & composition of every wave before you start the night, instead of right before it arrives. All of the traps are one-use only, so there's no growing Corridor of Death. The trick is figuring out how to kill the most enemies with the fewest traps and remembering exactly where you need to be and when you need to be there.

It's gloriously mind-melting by the end of the game, when you need to remember your gameplan for 4-6 waves.

Oh, and all of the music in the game is just awesome. It's Canadian folk bands, and most of it is on sale on iTunes. There's a partial list of the songs used here. Music's been uploaded to YouTube here.

Still not enough to convince you to try this game? What if I told you the Devil's in it? And he wears a top hat? And he gets devoured alive halfway through it? Didn't see that coming...

Oh shit. That fear system is a really good idea, especially to offset the problem of designing a game with both melee and long rifle reloads. Looks pretty unconventional.

@patrickklepek Sorry but mummies are the bottom rung of horror antagonists.

The fear mechanic also works on every enemy. Even the Final Boss. There's an achievement for making him hesitate 5 seconds before attacking you.

Seriously? When did the Giant Bomb audience become this sensitive? No one would have batted an eye if it was Ryan who said it.
