Remedy's Sam Lake Sorta Explains Quantum Break's Premise

Nice touch with the people warping in the background. This looks really cool and I hope what Sam says is true about leaning more on Max Payne gameplay than Alan Wake.

This seems like a fun little romp. I'm a big fan of everything I've seen from Remedy. I love the way action handles in their games. And aesthetically they've put together my favorite form of "gritty shooter". This looks a lot less dark than their previous work, which is kind of disappointing, but I'm still going to give it a shot.

It didn't sell particularly well. When asked about it on a podcast (don't remember which), they said they wanted to and maybe one day will, but it just didn't sell well enough.

@regular_kirk: I really enjoyed the storytelling and world stuff more than the combat in that game. I think it is pretty underrated overall, but part of that is because of how long it was in development and what they promised (like you said).

Alex is on fire today. Also, a time traveling Max Payne would be cool instead of this...thing.

Speaking of Alan Wake, all of Remedy's talk surrounding Quantum Break reminds me how for years Alan Wake was described as this Twin Peaks/Stephen King, Twilight Zone inspired game, which got me really hyped but then by the time the game came out it was just a third person shooter first and foremost.

Not really a "crash course" there, Sam. I'm still almost as baffled as to what the heck this is as I was at the start of the video...

I'll take your word for it, Max. But it doesn't instill me with confidence when you have to specifically state that the show is good.

What is Quantum Break? A whole lot of vague messaging used to describe what will largely boil down to being a third person cover based shooter.

This game is still the only Xbox One exclusive that I want to play, and I still think it looks rad. Here's hoping that I have the resources to buy an Xbone just for this one game, and that it's good.

Nothing about what was shown at VGX looked interesting to me. I was left saying to myself, "Why not just make Alan Wake 2?" I am sure Microsoft is giving them a crap ton of money to do this, especially as an exclusive. Still, not very interested especially when the gameplay is going to boil down to 3rd person shooter.
