Fear Gauntlet was fantastic and should've been a main site feature. In retrospect it seems like a really strange choice, since they chose to publish the FarmVille stuff to the main site. I think way more people would've watched it if it wasn't tucked away and hidden.

@patrickklepek FME + running a game + input from webcam + input from microphone all being streamed out of an Air? Not gonna work at anything resembling a nice resolution or frame rate. FME itself isn't easy on the ole CPU.

The 2012 models are perfectly capable of running games like Crysis 2. 2011 models can run some older 3D games fairly well too.

The problem is that a lot of people run the games under OS X instead of running Windows on Boot Camp. Performance on OS X is terrible compared to Windows for 99% of games.

@patrickklepek: I still think it is awesome that you set aside your own time, in your own house to do this. Video really wasn't that bad to watch either! Also a 4MB (megabit) connection would only technically be able to stream at 500kbs (kilabytes) - one byte is 8 bits so you divide by 8.

If I had a dollar for every pixel this video has, I would have one dollar.

But really, what do people expect from a macbook air.

Kudos to Patrick for apologizing to us premium members. I download these via iTunes but came here to make sure the problem wasn't unique to me. In the future I'd like it if Patrick kept the chatter to a minimum when dialouge is being played. I was trying to listen to the intro and Patrick talked the entire time.

The thing I find weird is that this plan went through without you seemingly talking to any of the tech guys or doing any testing with any of them. Things like the bitrate and resolution are super basic and any engineer could've told you about this.

It's not the quality that's a problem, it's the lack of attention with which it was done.

Love the idea but this video is unwatchable. Hopefully the follow up will be better.

@RVonE: Yet the GB crew said that they mishandled GB content on the Youtube account by tagging and categorizing them incorrectly.

Spookin' with scoops sounds like a sex move to me. Then again so does everything. Do Call of Cthulu.

I actually watched a bit of this, even though when I first started my thought was it resembled abstract art. Get it together Pat, because despite the quality of the picture I was personally intrigued! Gosh I wish you would do System Shock 2, or even one.

Can't really watch more of this, but it's first effort..Get Vinny , Drew or Dave over to set you up first time, if possible.

I liked Fear Gauntlet so I think am gonna enjoy this feature.

I watched the slender stuff yesterday and got really excited about this. Really a shame about the quality... Unwatchable for me sadly. Look forward to the next one though.

@patrickklepek Don't sweat the quality issues, seriously. As a person who watches YouTube on a daily basis, you will get the hang of things. It's a great thing that you took the time to give us some unique content and we all appreciate it. I'm sure I'm not alone in any respect when I say that I look forward to your next addition to the series. If you were good enough to entertain me at this level, it will be fun to see what you can do once you get the hang of things.

2. I didn’t take bitrate into account. It was set at an astoundingly low 300, despite my 4MB+ upload connection at home capable of spitting out much more. That’s why the video suddenly becomes pretty watchable towards the very end, even if the video is slightly out of alignment at that point.

Love the feature, shame about the technical problems but I'm sure they'll be resolved for the next episode.

Is there any chance we could get maybe a do-over of this game without the tech problems? I'm 40 minutes in and the game sounds amazing, but I can't tell due to the compression...

I wouldn't call it better but way better than I thought possible Fear Gauntlet was the shit!

Looking forward to watching this series when the videos are not as pixelated as a Japanese porno. Gave this one 5-10 min but couldn't stand the low video quality. Here's hoping the other ones are better.

I'm gonna pass on this feature for the same reason I don't follow Jeff's jar videos. One duder at a time just isn't enough for me anymore...
