SpyParty's New Art Looks Pretty Hot

First i've heard of this game. looks interesting

This game hasn't released yet? Feels like I've been hearing about it for ages. Looks good though

So it's basically the hide and act like an npc part of AC multiplayer... :P

Holy crap, that's a massive improvement over the old look.

Now the UI just needs to not look like a programmer made it and this game will be perfect.

I would like to see more locations in the game with the new artwork! That penthouse-looking location looked really nice.

I kept thinking the crappy blocky version was gonna be released. Nice to see it's making progress.

Looks Totally Party.

This is the perfect example of a game that should not have been shown off as early as it has. I heard about this game before Assasins Creed Multiplayer was ever announced. Now, there have been multiple games with the exact same game play released. It is no longer a novel experience and I am now less likely to purchase the game when it is released.

Hmm, could you give some examples of games with the exact same gameplay? This one is still fairly singular.

So you are saying it should have been shown after all these games were shown, making it less novel?

Not really. It's one spy vs one sniper. No piles of bodies, no sprinting on rooftops cause fuck stealth, and the spy can't just hide, they have to get through the objectives.

This seems like it will be pretty damn fun to play online.

Just shoot the brown guy.

Maybe you have to play it to understand but neither side looks particularly fun to me.

I understand why people are comparing this to AC multiplayer, but they are very different games; AC multiplayer is more of a fun diversion and a bit more chaotic, when Spyparty is just a straight competitive game. I'd encourage anyone to watch the PAX Prime Omegathon from this year if they want some good Spyparty action, because that final was crazy.

The fat dude and the woman in brown look awesome.

That guy made the biggest play, and it paid off because his opponent panicked. It was amazing.

I get more amped for this game every time I see it. This makes things even sweeter.

I played a lot of this game at EVO earlier this year when they still had the older design. A very fun game based on mindgames!

The game is truly singular. The new art really picks it up, and that stuff doesn't even have proper lighting, etc.

The game still does a whole host of things that AC multiplayer doesn't, and it's way more complicated than anything you'll find on the market (Splinter Cell, AC, etc)

There's an incredible amount of subtlety, and you really need to play it to understand what it does so well.

I love TF2's art style. I wouldn't mind more games adopting that proper look.

I remember when they showed this (I can't remember if it was a part of another video or on its own) to the giantbomb guys a WHILE ago.I thought it was awesome then and I still do now. I can't wait for it to come out.

Love the character specific animations, that will have gameplay consequences because I am assuming every character will have a different looking tell for each of their actions.

iPhones and modern watches but everyone in 1960s-ish clothes. Clearly someone understands how spy fiction is supposed to work.

@top8cat: Same here. Can't for the life of me remember how long it is since I first heard about it, but it's been a while for sure. I feel like I'd heard about this thing when I played the first Assassin's Creed multiplayer in Brotherhood at least. Looks good now, might have to check the beta again.

That looks so much better. I keep assuming this game has died, and it keeps popping back up. Hopefully the graphics refresh gives the game some proper momentum to get finished.

Yeah I agree - great new look. It does remind me a little bit of "The Ship". Are these games developed by the same people? I've never even heard of this before!

I really like Giantbomb showing as many of these original, cool games, instead of giving us updates on every small patch of some bigger game. Nice!
