The gameplay in the trailer looks kinda like frozen synapse in 3d, could be good.

This is on my top 5 of anticipated games for 2012... I love Jagged Alliance so much and from what I've seen, it seems pretty cool. The semi-turnbased thing is allright by me.

I'm psyched for this. JA2 had some great mods that practically turned the game into gun porn.

I think a more useful analogy would be something like Final Fantasy Tactics or Disgaea. The difference would be that where those games are based around grids, Jagged Alliance has a more analogue range of movement. There's a strong element of permanence, the player hires mercenaries with different abilities to command during each mission and those mercs level up as the game progresses. At least, that's what the original version of JA2 was like.

Love jagged alliance. Love Turn based. That looks like a 3ds game.

Wait... wait... this isn't a first person shooter?... I thought that the only way to resurrect a franchise that used to be turn-based strategy was to make is an FPS... I'm so confused... Happy, but confused...

Unfortunately my hopes aren't too high for this... I hope to get pleasantly surprised but I really don't expect much...

From the looks of this trailer it looks like a shelved 2010 product that's been dusted and re-scheduled...

The game looks like crap and will probably play like it too; real time controls? boo

It looks like Silent Storm. A game I find incredibly hard to find.

@High_Nunez:It's a pain to get running on modern OS's and video cards anyway. You basically have to run cracks or hex edits to get it to function.

As long as they just give it a facelift, I will be satisfied. Implementing the 1.13 user patch features would be amazing as well.

My skin is punctured and leaking.

Meetings are always on foggy bridges so the framerate is better.

Trailer wasn't the best, but they had me at "new Jagged Alliance" anyway.

Some developers have the balls to not just make another generic FPS out of an old franchise. DX:HR stayed true to the original. Dawn of War series does great as a top down strategy. If the game is done well it will do well.

It's a bullshit excuse and has always been. Yet GB crew dismissed Syndicate and Xcom remakes as business as usual while hypocritically being offended when the franchises they care about get changed drastically.

(sadly Kalypso isn't that great of a developer imo, and this trailer doesn't show much promise either.)

I've been keeping an eye on this one. If they're clever this could have a long life on Steam (etc.) at budget price.

I agree. You could make a game in the same vein as the original, though from what I've been seeing this game isn't it.

At the end of the trailer the dude walking away looked like his ass was tearing in half.

Looks intriguing. Too bad its a Russian made Jagged Alliance knockoff, so that means it is going to be unplayable, charisma-less garbage.

At least it will have 50,000 different kinds of guns in it, since Russian game developers spend approximately 90% of their man hours adding more guns to their games.

There's really a disturbing trend of B-grade developers picking up old, beloved franchises and bringing them back to life with just enough of a budget to make them look good by the standards of whatever year the last game in the series was made. Tropico, Stronghold, Majesty, this... The fact that there's a profit to be made in releasing this stuff half-assed suggests there might be more in doing it right. Right?

An Alliance more Jagged I have never seen. Feels strange to see an isometric game thats is not a strict RTS in year 2011. Definitely getting a Commandos groove from this.

As least somebody is still making games like this.
