Wasn't a big fan of Conviction. This doesn't look like much of an improvement. It looks neat and does some neat things, but its not Splinter Cell.

I don't remember the dog murder at the E3 demo, huh, I wonder why they left it out. I was already un-sold on this game with what appears to be the lack of stealth and Ironside, though.

I really hope that "moral choice" near the beginning doesn't actually affect how the story plays out. He just killed multiple people. He's about to go kill many more people. I don't think it really means anything whether or not he decides to spare the guy he's torturing or not.

Blurred out button prompts probably mean they are showing us PC footage, right?

I was hoping that they would use the great core mechanics in Conviction to make a stealth game. Oh well, at least they removed the stupid black and white effect.

What I would have done was to make this a new character and have Sam Fisher behind the scenes. That way we can get Ironside as Sam Fisher. Then again, people would bitch about that too.

Fuck the new voice,fuck the fact that Sam Fisher is even in this new game.After Conviction Sam would never go back into the fray,he would spend time with his daughter and by the end of Conviction he didn't trust Grim anymore,he wouldn't work with her again.They should've stuck with Archer and Kestrel or make a new protagonist.Also why does Sam look younger?

I think this looks great, the only Splinter Cell so far that I didn't care for is Double Agent, and I'm excited for this. As for his voice, the only thing I dislike about it is the fact that it makes it sound like he's younger. I have no problem with them changing the voice as long as it's well voiced. Also, people shouldn't be complaining about the killing of the dogs. Damn, when are they going to have some cutscenes where it shows Sam use his Krav Maga skills against a formidable foe? I love in films and game when they do that. MGS with Solid Snake's CQC, and yes, even Nolan's Batman films as Batman uses Keysi. I wonder who does the soundtrack this time around.

The way Sam gets faster in every game makes it seem like he is getting younger as time passes, haha. I like Michael Ironside as the voice of Sam. Finally, I would not mind if Sam was more of a background character since a lot of my favorite Splinter Cell memories come from multiplayer.

Looks like more Conviction. I'm down.

I honestly hate that this game exists in it's current form. Being that Chaos Theory is one of my favorite games of all time, this is yet another insane jump in the wrong direction for this series, which started with Double Agent. Also, the lack of Ironside absolutely kills ANY excitement I had. Fun fact: the original game manual for Chaos Theory states that Fisher was born in 1957, which means that he was approximately 54 during the events of Conviction. For some reason, though he looks like he's in his early forties in this game, which is most likely taking place between 2013-2015.

Why where the button prompts blurred out? Are there some kind of secret new button icons they're going to put out?

I feel you on all these points, but I still like the look of this. It's definitely not the same IP that it used to be at the height of CT, but I'm willing to give it a whirl and see if I can have a relationship with the new, weirdly younger Sam all over again. It almost seems like they're trying to make him look like Eric Bana's character "Hoot" from Black Hawk Down.

As much as I'd like that, too, they'd probably have a hard time justifying a female operative. The only options close to it among the ranks of the US Intelligence community is either SFOD - Operational Support Troop (or the "Funny Platoon") which allegedly employs female operatives (though this has yet to be confirmed, and probably never will be since females are technically not allowed to be in combat roles) or JSOC - Mission Support Activity (formerly ISA).

The other more likely option would be some sort of Mossad organization, since the it's not uncommon for the Israelis to use female field operatives.

It is rumored because it doesn't exist.

I find it amusing that the button prompts are censored out, but then little versions of the prompts show up in the bottom left corner. They're using a 360 controller btw....

Looks pretty neat. Shame that they probably won't go back to Chaos Theory's gameplay and the lack of Ironside's voice is pretty off putting. I enjoyed Conviction though, so if it's as good or better, I'll be happy.

I was possibly interested in the game when it was announced back at E3, but eh, now...just looks like another run of the mill shooter instead of the stealth that was featured in the others.

I would buy the shit out of this if they'd called it anything but Splinter Cell. Looks very well made, but it simply isn't a Splinter Cell game. By any other name, this would've got my money.

played Pandora tommorow and the other one on the gamecube have not gone for double agent and conviction. this makes me want to go through all of these

One was for picking up the body, and believe, for a split second, you can knock the guy out instead of killing him.

Jesus, and I thought this series couldn't get any worse after Conviction. Third person shooter? Check. Arabs as targets? Check. ROGER BRAVO OSCAR MIKE TANGO UAV CAM? Check.

I've never understood why throwing a guy 14 feet off a ledge onto his back instantly kills him, and why we just accept that this works. They should train people in the military to pull people off small ledges, it would save a lot of ammo.

Oh joy, the once likable Sam Fisher is now basically a war criminal since he tortures people for ibformation. Also, did I see him shooting rockets at people at some point? Doesnt seem very stealthy to me....

The lack of Ironside is palpable.

Jade Raymond is involved? I assume that this means this game will be shit but the ones that follow will be amazing. Odds are I'm probably closer to the truth than I want to be.

Y'know, as a big fan of SC1 and CT, as well as the OG Xbox version of Double Agent, even though I didn't like Conviction as an SC game, I thought it was fine on its own as a new, HARDCORE JACK BAUER BLAM BLAM BLAM type of "aggressive stealth" game. Descriptions of the way this played sounded fine.

Now, after seeing it in action, it just looks really really bad. Also getting rid of Michael Ironside is maybe the worst decision in the history of video games.
