Fantastic story. So-so game. However, the story and characters are seriously great.

I couldn't finish it. I found it somewhat boring. I've heard a lot of people liked it. There's a mix for you. Used ones on Amazon start at $3.89 (ps3) and $4.50 (360) or so. I'd say it's worth that just to know for sure whether or not it's worth it.

If Darkness himself, Charlie Murphy, makes a cameo... Insta-Buy!!!

Enjoyed the first one, trailer has me pretty happy to see this sequel coming.

You know I never beat the first Darkness. I borrowed it from someone, got to about the half-way point, and had to give it back. I should really hunt down a copy of that game and finish it, it can't be much more than 10 bucks nowadays.

Also, this trailer was awesome.

Wait, didn't The Darkness completely engulf Jackie at the end of the first game? I don't recall their being multiple endings, though that final level was fantastically dark.

My only gripe with the first Darkness was the slow movement of your character (Jackie), especially when you had to travel through the neighborhoods and subway stations. Also, I felt that the absence of a "run" button/trigger forced you to adapt and keep with the pace of the game, something which was not entirely bad.

I really wish more games did this kind of thing before the game's release.

I loved The Darkness 1. The atmosphere and tentacle raping was great. But my biggest take away from the game was that song by The Duskfall that would play on the TV.

One of the only things I think I'm going to miss from the original Darkness is the fact that as long as you were in the dark, you were GOD. You could rip open black holes as much as you wanted, use all your darkness powers with impunity, and were pretty much invulnerable. It looks like in this game they're placing a greater focus on depowering you, knocking you down a peg and making you weaker. So while they're offering significantly more ways to be awesome, and refining the first games system to perfection and further, that greater focus on Jackie's weakness is sorta disheartening.

As trailers go, that was fantastic.

I know I am one of the fans who holds the original in to high esteem so any difference the developers makes is going to get on my nerves but I'm not sure about the art style. I know it's based on a comic book but the original felt so organic and grounded you could really emphasise with the characters. They have the benefit of my doubt, but please please please don't bugger this up.

My thoughts exactly. To me, the first game felt like a dark movie with crazy action sprinkled in to enhance the story. From the looks of this so far, it seems like an excuse for non stop comic book style shooter. I just think that the cell shaded look and over the top gun fights are sprinting away from why I loved the first game.

Wasn't a launch game, it came out June 2007.

I loved the first game, and like many people I'm skeptical at it going to another developer. However, this trailer was pretty amazing, I hope Digital Extremes can nail what made the original so special.

We'll see how this goes. Maybe Digital Extremes will do better with an excisting property. :p

Different developer, but still probably a day 1 purchase for me.

It is one of my favorite games of this generation, so I think it is. Beware though, it is a game of moments. While there are some scenes I will never forget, there are also some horrible levels. If you can spare the money (and I'd wager that is rather cheap), it is worth you time if you appreceiate what the first person perpective can do for storytelling.

Granted, something similar could be said about the original Halo.

Game looks cool. Strangely enough the clean rendering (not the cel-shading) reminds me of Starbreeze's Syndicate. Really digging this game but wish that they hadn't dropped Kirk Acevedo!

Still never played the first one. I might go try and find a copy.
