This Darksiders II Trailer Is Downright Apocalyptic

Anyone else noticed the lightbulbs at 0:22 nice touch ;)

You know, Quick Looks and Mailbags are one thing, but I don't feel like watching an ad before I watch an ad. I'm off to YouTube, my adblocker takes care of them over there. :P

Yes. I think.

The first Darksiders starts off right during the Apocalypse, it's when War is summoned, his summoning is what is needed to kick-start the end of days in the first place, so he is very much present at the time.

The bulk of the first game however is played long after the Apocalypse. War is imprisoned stripped of his powers and comes back to investigate and shit.

As far as Darksiders 2 goes some of it will indeed be set prior to the first game, tho the game designers hinted that some events will be concurrent as well.

Are you sure it was an "obvious mistake"? It's a modern day church. Makes perfect sense that some of the lighting would be electrical, even if they're primarily making use of candles -- I imagine there isn't much power coming through the lines during the apocalypse.

The game takes place in the 21st century. Also, back-up generators.

Dude in this video claims that it's set in parallel with the timeline of the first game during the 100 years of War's imprisonment. Skip to 1:50 for the awkward explanation.

Not sure whether or not I'll be getting this, but this trailer is fantastic.

Hot damn Vigil know how to make their protagonists seem awesome. August is a great time for this game, it'll be one of the first proper games to come off the back of the Summer.

Yeah, they did this with Prototype 2 and see how that turned out.

Basically, alarm bells should be ringing if gameplay walkthroughs aren't shown a month before release.

My buddy just pointed out to me that you can totally see the fake candle lightbulbs in the chandelier when it falls.

They are trying to appeal to those who never played Darksiders. Given how little the original was marketed, this is an improvement.

I really like it. It's a less conventional take on the personification of Death. I'd totally love if his personality matched his rock and roll star looks.

A lot of peeps raging on Death's design, I'm digging it. Heminds me a lot of Raziel from the LOK series, and with more RPG elements in DSII, means a day one purchase for me.

This is one trend in gaming I can't really get behind - live action trailers, especially with no gameplay.

I keep reading The Darkness 2..........

I liked the first game and all, but everything about Darksiders II is just...corny. Death looks stupid.
