Huh, that wasn't meant to start beef or anything. It's Darksiders, you know? The games already look like WoW and play like Zelda (and Portal), but that's okay. The first game is well made and engaging. So may this one be. But Death looks like a Protoss to me. Protoss may look like many other things, but Death still looks like one. Not attacking it. Just thought it was funny.

@Shaanyboi: Yes you should. The first hour or so is pretty slow, and doesn't even show what type of game it truly is. At least get a bit into a dungeon before deciding.

Just picked up the first one via the Steam summer sale. This still appears to the the tackiest gaming franchise doing the rounds, however, combining the design aesthetics of a metal music video with a PS2 platformer.

The darkside is strong in this one.

Oooooh I can't wait. Picked up Darksiders because of all the talk about it on the Bombcast some months back.

Wow, great production values, but that just makes me wish it was on the next generation of consoles...

I wasn't going to bother when I heard they were introducing (Fool me once, shame on Brutal Legend, Fool me twice...) but I haven't heard or seen anything about it in awhile so I feel safe in a late pre-order.

I like that this felt like a good movie trailer! My interest increased in this, so am picking up number 1 on the cheap!

If all of mankind is dead then what are they fighting for at this point? Wasn't the eternal struggle between heaven and hell mostly a back and forth shimmy of who gets more souls? Seems kind of arbitrary to be fighting now just for the sake of fighting. When the demons win there will be just demons, and then what will they do? Video game plots, best not to delve into them too much.

im hoping it is just the video, but this game looks in serious need of some vibrant color. too desaturated. which would be a pity since it has a cool art style

Well different people have different play speeds. My second Darksouls playthrough is 23 hours (at least by Steam time played, so probably a bit inflated by idling)). But that was a comprehensive one collecting every piece of loot, upgrade and secret.

Darksiders 2 has been stated to be double the size on several ocasions.

Pre-ordering a game makes the wait for the release day nigh-unbearable. In the mean time, I play through Darksiders 1 and relive one of my favorite games of 2010.

Sounds like it to me. He voiced Azrael in the first game, though he sounds a little gruffer in this.

I thought it sounded like Sean Pertwee, but you are probably correct.

I just realized how Brutal Legend this game looks , but it looks kinda juvenile compared to BL because it takes itself too serious.

Well you should probably know that Ono sort of/maybe/kind of confirmed a new DarkStalkers at SDCC. He used to ask people to raise their hands with money to show their support for a new DarkStalkers game. This year he said they didn't need to do that, but it was in a good way. So...maybe we'll see a new one.

Pre-rendered cutscenes are so stupid. I don't know why anybody gets excited over those. THIS, i guess (trailers are still stupid for video games) is better.

This game evokes "old school" action gameplay mechanics in a larger world with all the neat additions I could want in a next gen title. Namely a loot and skill system, which enhances how you approach fights in this game.

@GERALTITUDE: I had the exact same response to the first game, but pretty much all of that melted away when I started solving puzzles in the first dungeon and realised how appealing a Zelda game uninhibited by Nintendo's design philosophy could be.

This game can look as much like an Iron Maiden album cover as it wants just as long as the gameplay remains quality.

Odd, the video does not play in Chrome, I've not had this problem before on Giant Bomb.

Was already exited for this, but this trailer was probably the first trailer to get my body ready, and now I need it.

Ugh. This game makes me angry at myself. I want to play it, but man I hate oversized weapons. Something about the art style of this series just makes me recoil -- but I hear it plays like Zelda, which basically means it's awesome. What's a gamer to do?

So while I'm excited for this game, I've only played like an hour of the first one and am not really digging it. Don't like the feel of the combat, and the arbitrary nature of some of the level design. Should I stick with it?

I loved the first one soo much that I have to buy this .Ya know I've noticed that the first Darksiders is getting a lot more love now, than when it came out because of the whole zelda rip off thing which is nice.

This keeps on getting even higher on my wanted list...I will have to check reviews for this when it comes out.

I want it.

Picked up a pre-order for this for $37 the other day on Green Man Gaming. So stocked, especially considering how great the first game is.

I'll watch this if it has no developers talking over it, reminding you how awesome the game will totally be for sure.

Pretty pumped to kick the shit out of War. On another note, I think that the character design for Death is a lot better than it was for War.

Gameplay???? In game engine perhaps. But that was 0 actual gameplay perspective.
