TMNT: Out of the Shadows Introduces Us to its Rendition of Raphael

No, it's been Ninja Turtles since the 2003 series.

The whole "ninja ban" in the UK is kind of a weird issue that's difficult to get any solid information on, but for the most part it seems to have gone away. The first movie is uncut on DVD now (which they made a big deal about at the time) and products have carried the TMNT banner for ten years now. Whether this means we'll get re-releases of Soul Blade without Li Long's weird three sectioned staff I don't know, but otherwise we're good.

I hope this is good; it certainly looks fun enough.

To my great surprise I'm enjoying the new TV series. I don't think an episode has gone by without some joke making me laugh out loud. I had expected to be all old fogey "this isn't a patch on the Turtles we used to get" but I have to admit that it's genuinely good. And the eighties turtles I grew up with weren't even the originals, so who am I to complain?

The new comic from IDW is good too. But it's getting damn confusing keeping all the continuities straight.

I just can't get over how they've modelled the Turtles' heads. I DUN'T LIKE ET.

That said, I'm diggin' everything else I'm seeing.

They should have a level with a jump that looks hard to do but you can actually just walk over.

Anyone know if this has an "open world" feel to it like arkham city did? I would love to be able to fling from rooftop to rooftop in new york as a turtle.

It's actually the same characters and universe as the new TV show. They've just changed the way it looks to appeal to an older audience. The Raphael in this game even has the same crack on his shell that the one in the cartoon has.

Running on the side of the truck, awesome. Over the top Skrillex-like soundtrack? Not so much.

Son, if you think this is Dark n' Gritty Turtles then you and Google need to sit down and have a long talk about the original 'Return to New York' arc.

@morbidyak: Turtles started out gritty it was the cartoon that made it goofy. This looks like it's going for somewhere in the middle.

Still not the biggest fan of the character design but this game is actually looking like it might be alright. I'm starting to get cautiously excited.

I know it's a trailer but I would love to see gameplay of a whole fight. Do the turtles move fluidly from one enemy to the next? Once I see that I'll know if I'll be downloading it.

Anyone play the TMNT game for the GBA? I remember it being okay, if not particularly memorable. Or even that great, I guess.

Really hope this game is as good as it looks. The developers cited Arkham as inspiration, so that's great news.

Raph and Leo always seemed like they should be the most effective of the turtles, since they have blades, but they never seem to stab dudes...

I'm kind of excited for this. I like the 'realistic' 1990s movie look that Rapheal has in this trailer.

Donatello was always my favourite. I had a theory when I was a kid, playing the arcade machine that Donatello's staff gave a ranged advantage meaning enemies were less able to land hits on him. Complete rubbish I'm sure but it made sense to me at the time.
