That was a lot of fun. Will echo with what some others were saying - from listening to the Bombcast you'd think Dan was the Lionel Messi of Rocket League. Turns out he's the [insert bad soccer player] of Rocket League.

They need to use the Ball follow cam more.

As a defender myself i hope they don't add selectable spawn positions, i think it's better if players are more well rounded, i'm pretty good on offense but choose to defend because most people online don't and i don't want to let a long ball get past everyone because that's embarassing, i can also score from the length of the pitch with the right amount of boost so it's worth keeping me back.
But as a defender i can go for long periods of hovering waiting for my opportunities, with spawns as they are at the very least i get my offense bit at kickoff.

Man, I don't get the gripes towards Jeff's play in this one. He hasn't played the game all that much, and he was clearly sick as hell. The fact that he even made it through the games without puking on set is impressive.

These games were tense and entertaining to watch. Vinny's work in goal was excellent.

Hopefully GB West practices their teamwork a bit to make the rubber match games even closer and crazier.

This stuff is great I kinda think they should do this kind of thing more often kinda like TNT but UvT. different game each week rematches when needed.

Dan is really quiet when he's losing. Hard to talk smack when you're getting trounced!

Dan played like a youth tee ball player. Literally running out of position after every single ball instead of trusting the team. The West team was constantly out of position and scored on because of different levels of this for their whole team.

Jeff Bakalar joined chat by the end and said he'd love to join for some 4v4. Would be great to have him on GBEast and Danny or Mary join on the west side the next time this happens.

"pro-tip" go in to options and change your fov. that way you can pull the camera back making able to see more of the field and gives you better orientation.
also double jump forward to go faster when not using boost. good for catching up when your out of boost or want to save it.
lastly never use ball cam mode for anything other then orientation on where it is for a brief second. if your locked on and driving to the ball at an odd angle it can result in driving past the ball or hitting it weirder then you would think. screws up a lot of shots for me.

I wonder if Dan thinks that chasing the ball constantly is the best thing to do to win or if he just doesn't care that it isn't.

Damn, I'm guessing Jeff had a hell of a night. The difference between him at the beginning and the end was crazy. Hope he feels better soon!

As far as how Dan acts, it's not that I hate the dude or the shtick if he decides to use it that way from time to time. The problem I have is that that he would constantly talk trash in every PVP game he played, never compliment a good play or show any kind of sportsmanship.

He did better this time around for sure. Sure, it's a game and trash talk is guaranteed, but there is a way to handle it without coming off as pompous or dismissive of everyone else. Austin probably showed the best balance between the two attitudes: He talked trash but was never shy to offer a "Good shot" or something similar. Felt more like a give and take than an ego stroke.

Please do more of these. These are some intense videos. Would love to see Drew in on it too.

Man, GBeast's first match... Remember at the end of KOTOR when Bastilla uses her battle meditation? It was like that, expect with rocket-car soccer.

West coast has pretty bad chemistry. They seemed needlessly annoyed with Dan. It's a competitive video game, it's supposed to be fun.

I mean he was just riffing off of a joke they had already made, right? Seemed like a harmless call back.

I don't understand why everyone gets on Dan about trashing tsalking but nobody seems to care about Austin doing more or less the same thing. Personally, I don't care about either, but I just don't get the double standard.

Look, he wanted to be the heel and now he's the heel. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

I was going to mention this as well. Save your boost. Two front flips puts you at the same speed as a full boost. You can get across the field really quickly. Use the boost to jump or quickly run at the ball, or to make a desperate run at a ball heading for your goal. Also, turn off Ball Cam. Learn to use the arrow on your car pointing towards the ball and the marker on the ground to judge ball height.

If they do any more of these, I'd like to see one person playing in spectator mode. If it functions the way the replay spectator mode does, that'd be a better way to watch the game. Maybe have a couple of guys acting as commentators. Say, Drew and Danny O'Dwyer?

Here's hoping GBWest actually COMMUNICATE in the rubber match. GBEast kept whipping their asses because they were actually making sure someone was always watching their goal, and aside from that, rudimentary instructions to each other about what they were doing.

Brad actually comments on this at one point, but then continues to sit silently except for the odd grumble about how they were playing. He was talking about their defending like it was some incredible tour de force, when all they were doing was actually covering their own goal at all times.

Jeff was positively useless for most of the games, which I put down to him not feeling well, and not having played the game at all since the last stream. He was slow, constantly out of position, and constantly misjudging the movement of the ball.

Dan was constantly on the attack, and he was also the only guy keeping them in it a lot of the time. Some hotdogging occasionally cost them, but he was by far the most talented out of either team.

All in all, the disparity in preparedness was kind of disappointing. I hope they putt a bit more team effort into the rubber match.

Dan seems super serious when it comes to competitive stuff. And I don't say that because of the trash talking, just that he really seems to get into that sort of thing. Although in the context of my last comment, I meant it more along the lines of his trash talk being a lot less jovial than Austin's.

@r3beld0gg: That is an excellent idea for commenting. I also encourage Dan's trash talking and shit eating grins. I find is funny especially since he is the only one that does it.

what the fuck? that and him giving Dan shit for no reason (Dan is the MVP of GBwest) makes him the most miserable person to watch during these events.

I think they know that Dan is made of stronger stuff, so he can take blows as well as give them; he's a pretty positive guy and just wants to make things interesting.

If they get on anyone else for trash talking, they would probably lower their head and mope about it.

GBeast really turned it around from last time.

Jeff definitely seemed off his game - probably the sickness - he mistimed a lot of moves.

I think positioning was GB West's biggest problem, they were too close together. The amount of times they'd head towards the ball when one of the team-mates was already chasing it, instead of heading for space.

I'm sure Dan blindly chasing the ball even if it means smashing team-mates out of the way complicated matters, which is a shame because otherwise he's pretty good in attack.
