edit: one thing I noticed a lot of good players do is double jump foward to get back to goal, instead of using their boost. It is a good strategy to conserve the all precious boost.

I felt really bad for @jeff. In all my years following him and seeing him in video content since Gamespot, I've never seen him that tired, ill, or dispirited as he was right after the last match. Hope he feels better!

The next US vs Them should definitely be Splatoon since they are adding private matches on August 5th.

Pretty surprising rematch. It's amazing how thoroughly GBEast have whipped themselves into a team since the last match. The question for this match becomes: can the GBEast team win against one pro rocket ninja and two ball-cam rookies? I would love some footage from the GBEast Playstations so we can look at their individual technique.

I hope there's a third match with both teams putting in some practice hours in advance.

EDIT: It's not that they use ball-cam, it's that they use it exclusively. Toggling it moment by moment based on context will make you a more versatile and situationally aware player.

I have no idea how dan plays without following the ball. Wasted motion imo being ahead of the ball without being able to see it.

Dan's lag made that really rough to watch. I feel for him as that's the bane of any multiplayer game.

I think a good suggestion would be to make it where each team cannot hear each other talk until after a game is finished...would probably allow for actual tactics opposed to just hoping someone doesn't catch what is said between teammates.

To be clear: they are rookies who use ball-cam, but their ball-cam usage does not describe or result in their rookieness. Ball-cam is absolutely the superior camera mode. I will do battle over this.

Is GBeast auditioning for the next Ubisoft game demo with all the chatter? :)

Dan is a great striker but, he needs to pick his shots more. He'd be amazing if he played more mid.

People say things like this but almost all of the pros I've ever seen play this game almost exclusively use Ball Cam except for things like lining up aerials and whatnot. So it gets a little tiring to hear people act like not using ball cam is this hardcore strategy the Real Players use when in fact the best players in the world in this game use a whole ton of Ball Cam. For me, personally, the behind cam has a super disorienting fisheye type effect going on when I have the POV up as high as I prefer, so I stay off that shit as much as possible.

As a counter to what @jeff suggested and @austin_walker agreed upon, you should only get to select your spawn position in private games. I have played a great deal of NHL and FIFA online on these sorts of team games, and all that position selection promotes is half the players dropping once they don't get an offensive slot. And we're all aware that dropping games is enough of a problem in Rocket League as it is.

Huh, Dan pretty much scoring all the goals for the westcoat and Team Beast was praising him more than Jeff or Brad who were content to call him an asshole. Weird

Beast coast also operating much better as a team, talking to each other and calling stuff, Jeff & Brad pretty much silent other than "Shit" or "That was you, you knocked that back"

Ok, I've done a 180 on the whole 'Dan's shit talk' thing. As long as the rest of the bombcrew keep giving him shit for it, Dan can be the heel as much as he want.

Jeff's 'Don't rope us into your asshole thing' made me crack up.

Also, no spoilers because I am only 20 mins in but this is like the third act of a sports movie where the underdogs practiced up and is giving the old champions a run for their money. Go Beast!

@ryleknuckles: Yeah, the problem though is that most of the time Dan was their only offensive option. Part of that was him recklessly advancing all the time but West was not as coordinated as East so it wasn't like Dan could have created chances for Brad or Jeff even if he wanted to.

East's defensive line was really impressive, I was surprised at how fast they tracked back to smother West's offensive pushes.

Then you'd love the fact that Dan and Austin got into debates on Twitter when Austin was first hired. He was like the literal Anti-Dan for a couple of days.

Jeff stop using only ball CAM. YOU WILL GET SICK! Ball cam should be used when lining up shots or clear attempts or fast breaks (like when your going to front flip or back flip into the ball). Use free cam all the other times, much easier to collect boost and setup plays on the ball and play defense.

PLEASE use front flips to get down the field it saves boost and gets you moving fast! Once you master that master back flips, 3 of them going backwards gives you a backwards boost!), for backflips hold LT and jump up and then backward thrust! I can play pretty damn good just with ball cam and going backwards.

Last thing and this is for everyone! Adjust your camera height and view distance in the options! I know it is in the PC version and not sure about the PS4 but it helps a shit ton. I raised mine up and have a wider view because I am gaming on PC at 1400p on 27" monitor a 2 feet away from me. I get a way cleaner view with no blocked views from others turbos or grass clipping in and out, then it makes the pop ups easier to get a read on.

Love watching the two Giant bomb teams come together to compete in games!

I was surprised that GBSF didn't change tactics. I mean you could see what GBEast was doing, heck you could hear what they were doing but Jeff, Brad and Dan never changed their approach. Still that OT loss after giving up a last second goal seemed to me to be the straw that broke the camels back.
