I read a bit more about the confusion over the whole BS Xbox Tomb Raider exclusive...mess thing. And now i understand why they carved out an extra 20 sec to completely spell out their deals with publishers on game exclusivity. When I first saw it I just tough it was a nice and decent thing to do. But with that whole Tomb Raider debacle I understand it was another subtle poke at Microsoft. Well played Sony....(disclaimer I play everything on my pc and am no secret agent in the console war. Peace love, and steam-sales brothers and sisters.)

The 'box' segment easily wins the entire Sony presentation.

As was the case at E3, both console presentations were okay-ish with a few high points... but neither were especially inspiring.

Metal Gear is why I still love video games.

I feel like these press conferences have been focusing too much on small indie stuff and not big budget 60 dollar games that I would actually buy a console for.

Deadlight gets a bad rep, that was a really good game. There is a really terrible sewer section early on but it's really great level design from that point on.

Tearaway is the most joyful experience I've had in video games in the last twenty years. Maybe my whole life. Not the best experience, but I've never been happier or cheerier playing a game. Hope people are willing to give it a shot. It's an unforgettable experience for me.

I always just love watching Jeff's reactions to different games and people on stage.

Anyways I really hope that Blood Borne really comes out in the next six months and that MSG5 will actually be as great as I hope it will be.

I just started watching the stream on playstation.com but...fuck this...I want to hear some real expert commentary, by some real expert...video game experts. Oh, and Brad.

It's because there's so much of it and indie stuff is typically more exciting in a lot of cases. These bigger budget games are still a long way off as they transition to new hardware. While we all had high hopes for Watch_Dogs, it wasn't the grand next gen title we had all hoped for, especially when Ubisoft purposely made the PC worse.

And despite being the next big gaming event after E3, Gamescom is not really seen as all that important although this year's E3 was really bad compared to last year. This year alone has probably seen a fraction of big budget games come out compared to other years with so many games just being delayed into next year. Heck, by this time last year, many of the years best games had already come out with DmC, Metal Gear Rising, Tomb Raider, Bioshock, TLoU and Saints Row 4.

The technical hiccups were unfortunate. But that was a really nice showing.

That was painful to watch. Sony, not only one time, but twice (thrice?) had their stream break completely when talking about their online services.

I-it's okay... I w-wasn't excited for Last Guardian anyway...

I guess Hellblade will probably be at the very least a spiritual sequel to Heavenly Sword since, aside from the somewhat similar aesthetics, the title seems to draw a deliberate parallel with Heavenly/Hell and Sword/Blade. I love Heavenly Sword, but I good chunk of that love comes from its cheesy, over-dramatic cast of villains so I'll be highly disappointed if Hellblade doesn't have at least one instance of 10+ seconds of awkward evil laughter.

The main characters even look a lot alike. Hellblade seems to have a much more...dark tone from the trailer though. And I share your love for Heavenly Sword, for all its flaws.

Compression on compression on compression made the actual press conference video a bit tough to watch at times.

I was surprised to hear this song come on in a Sony conference. I recently watched Full Circle with Michael Palin (travel documentary) where he's teaching himself this song and later performs it with the Russian Pacific fleet. It's pretty great.
