Those zombies in this game have Creeper Powers of coming from behind every time.

I hope they do a follow-up video once this thing gets to whatever its "final" version is.

@Max015: If you use the streaming option instead of the progressive option, you can jump to wherever you want.

Downloading this mod tonight after seeing The Days Ahead series. It looks really awesome seeing it without all the server issues the GB guys were having.

You need Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead. And the Dayz mod.

Armed British forces lite, and Private military Company lite are included in the game and will launch automaticly, these are free low quality versions of the two DLC packs. If you buy the DLC, the survivors will look a bit sharper, but there is no requirement to do so.

I just got through playing this mode. It's pretty fun, especially when you're the only guy crawling around and being hidden while you watch other people get overwhelmed by zombies.

I love Arma. The developer is my favorite.

Love it! Bought Arma II to play this mod.

This video really shows the issues with the new player.

With long content like this you really need the freedom to jump in and out of the video at any point you want, but this one forces you to wait for the whole thing to buffer before you can jump to where you left off.

Also I really would like an option to default to HD, switching it every time is pretty annoying.

If this game actually worked, I would play it.

Nice effort here Vinny and Drew, even if the game is a bit busted it was still rather funny seeing Vinny sprint away from the guy from Mythbusters and Drew get mowed down by the mysterious bandit.

@Stonyman65: Yeah it really does.. i used to jump in and out of videos when i had free time, now i cant jump to say 20 minutes in because it wants to buffer first... poor video player overall, also an option to automatically start the videos in 720p would be nice.

If I had a lot of free time I'd play this over an MMO. I look forward to more from Vinny, Drew, and possibly young Dave.

I think they did a good job trying to protect them. But you can't plan ahead with server problems and griefers. This video is very representative of my first hour in this mod.

The mod still needs some work, but it looks like it could be fun when they finish it. Did laugh when Vinny said he was being chased by jamie hyneman from mythbusters. Wonder could this work better server wise on a console.

The entire time I was watching this, all I could think was: Why hasn't someone made a zombie apocalypse MMO yet? It seems obvious; meet up with other survivors, create a party and go out into instanced zombie infested zones for supplies (NPC: I need 10 bottles of water from the old Super Market. Other NPC: I need 20 bandages from the old abandoned Hospital. The quests write themselves). I mean, with the creatively bankrupt big budget developers of today, it REALLY seems like it would've been done by now. And with the fucking morons out there who love zombies - the most boring of all monsters - and religiously, blindly buy anything with a zombie in it, it's instant money. How has Bobby Kotick not rushed this game into production yet!?! It's baffling.

This video was boring. Zombies still suck, but man - Vinny and Dave should've planned this thing out better. Or edited it, or something. You have to scrub through a good portion of it to get to anything good. No wonder this was not a Quick Look.

Oh well, thanks for putting this out today anyway. The first half of the week sucks on Giantbomb now. You guys don't post anything interesting until the week is almost over now. But then we get a few good Quick Looks. It's a really weird schedule y'all are running there nowadays.

Bits of this game seem amazing, other bits seem terrible. But it seems to manage the atmosphere I Am Alive was trying to get very well.

Wow, this live stream was rough. Way to show off the joys of PC gaming.

This new player seems to behave in progressive only, not streaming. So for example, if I try skip an hour ahead, it has to wait for it to download, before it can jump to that part.

enjoyed the video. Watching Vinny and Drew struggle with a game in alpha was actually quite entertaining. The banter made a frustrating time fun.

I'm surprised that I find this mod so intriguing. I'm actually looking for more game play / commentary videos of it on YouTube. The blend of realistic and the sometimes movie like quality of it can be intense. I was watching a video on YouTube where a helicopter flew over and the guy playing immediately hit the dirt. Then watched as it flew away. In that instance I thought to myself "I've got to play this."

Maybe ArmA 2 will go on sale sometime soon. I'm not so sure if I would like the main game of ArmA.

Played this tonight, friend asked me where I was in the game I told him "lighthouse near the shore" 50 minutes later he said he was there and I should meet him at the lighthouse. I had already been running for 40 minutes in a completely different direction.

Everything was dark, killed 23 zombies, barely had enough ammo, survived off of stolen pepsi and beans. The mod is fucked up and crazy, but I love it.

Mod needs to use some arma vehicles, or have a party system. I felt so alone wandering for a good hour and almost dying of starvation and dehydration before I found a zombie that had pepsi on him.

I was playing with a few friends online, but never saw them or anyone else.

Gonna try playing during daylight. Night was brutal and lonely

They really need better titling/icon for video features. Just by looking at the icon and title I assume this was just a trailer for the game and completely ignored it til now, I've gotten so bored I would watch anything.

I been staring at the site the past 2 days hoping for some video feature and though there was nothing. : (

This is all I've been playing this week and its absolutey stupendous at times. Throw in TrackIR and some good headphones and you have a terribly immersive and absolutely terrifying game.

Playing through the night in the middle of a rain storm, creeping through woods running low on water and knowing the only place to replenish it is in a town where the zombies are, or going to the dark side and ambushing or betraying a fellow human for their supply...well, its not many games that ask you to make choices like that while scaring the pants of you.

Really hope they improve the zombie AI a bit as it progresses, as at the moment there is not a lot you can do to throw them off once you're being chased. A bit more fallibility would be nice. Also some random encounters away from towns and settlements would make things more.... interesting when out in the sticks...

Even some of the bugs are a bit crazy. Was lost deep in the woods, far from the coast at night. I had given up a bit of caution and was carrying a flare to see, which is a dangerous thing to do for obvious reasons shown in this video.

Suddenly right on the periphery of my vision a stationary figure came into the light. It was a survivor, standing motionless in the middle of nowhere. And then as I edged past him, sure he was going to move and shoot me, I finally turned and ran straight into another. Nearly crapped myself :D

Guess both were just glitched or something as they never moved a muscle, but in the dark, with the music and ambient woods noise, and red sputtering light of the flare....very creepy stuff!

Need more Arma 2 day z!

Call me Whine-y McWhinerton, but not being able to hit the spacebar to pause on this new video player is the worst.
