You Can Feel Dead Space 3 Coming in the Air Tonight... Oh Looooord

So we're doing crappy covers of Phil Collins songs instead of just licensing the goddamn Phil Collins songs now? Well, that settles it. I quit music.

I actually tought the song fitted the trailer quite a bit tough the last part where he does the "Master Chief" doesn't make sense because we see there's a big cliff ahead of him! so yeah... trailers.

Oh boy, everything surrounding this game is just been the biggest turn off. I'd really like to know who wants this game at this point.

I do for one, but it is qualified. I'm going to listening, reading for something maybe more than poster opinion, and listen especially for those little hints the GB reviewer might throw out. Besides hopefully a QL.

I know this is probably the 'payback/finish the job game' in the series. I know why and how that will piss ppl. off. I'm still interested. I loved Dead Space, and enjoyed Dead space 2...plus I thought the church in the sprawl beautiful, the Ishimura(sorry if sp.) understandable for what happened in it. It was an action game with some true horror survival moments...hey, the eyeball scenes.

If Isaac's face in that trailer had just been replaced by Phil Collins I would have been sold.

Even though the marketing of this game has been poor, the game itself is fantastic.

I loved Dead Space 1, 2 was okay but it didn't grab me like the first one did. I couldn't even bring myself to finish it. Visceral are a great studio so I'm sure 3 will be good. I hope it's successful so that the folk at Visceral don't get laid off by their EA overlords.

The micro-transactions bullshit they put in is gross and their justification was just stupid. Goddamn it, EA. You make it so hard to like you...

They should have used the cover of this song done by Nonpoint for the Miami Vice movie in 2006. Actually, marketing should just be fired. All marketing, everywhere. Fresh start.

Played the demo it was just as good as the others so I will be picking this up, can't wait for more Dead Space. Alex can't even post a trailer where he is not complaining. The music was fine to me, it fit better than if they had used the original.

Would have been better with Debbie Gibson, Only in my Dreams/club mix. BOOOM! I think my age is catching up to me. I see trailers like this and get nothing out of the experience. I just sit and wait to see what downloadable pre-order garbage is being offered at gamestoptargetamazonwallmart.com. But I INSIST that I'm not cynical. Just old.

Hey, at least the remix wasn't of Two Hearts.

You know, because of the coop.

....

If anyone needs me, I'll be in Garry's Mod recreating the Dead Space 3 trailer with a Two Hearts remix.

Also, remember when Isaac Clarke was a middle-aged space Engineer? Me neither. Not extreme enough for the kids, I guess.

@Zephan: Hahah! I was thinking the same thing, there should be a page for trailers that end in characters jumping into unsurvivable situations.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Dead Space 3 turned out. As long as the polish on the visuals, audio and gameplay are in line with the previous games then I'm sure it'll be just fine.

Game still looks like a fun co-op shooter, but lololololol at whoever made this trailer and thought a buttrock version of In the Air Tonight was badass. Should have just gone all in and played Phil over a recreation of that driving over the bridge scene from Miami Vice, except now with Isaac Clarke and sidekick in the Ferrari instead of Crockett and Tubbs.

Its hard to believe Dead Space ever had atmosphere when you see crap like this. I thought the E3 demo looked bad because they went the all out action route, but this looks even worse when you pair it with a song that doesn't go with the game. The part at the end where Isaac unfolds his helmet just makes it seems like he is iron man and is about to activate rockets in his boots and fly away.

And I think the main character looks like Rick the dick from the Walking Dead now.

@Humanity: You complain about so-called embittered and unhappy folks' opinions as if they're not allowed to have those opinions or they're not justified. With the Kinect comment, I playfully put the slogan in italics. It's more of an eye-roll inducing thing. It also tells me Microsoft threw money at EA to include at least a trace of Kinect functionality just to remind folks it's still a thing, or to just remain in good graces with the sillyheads that have a Kinect.

By the way, I was referring to how EA took the chance with an IP by the name of "Dead Space". Fledgling, full of promise. Now it's micro-transactions for better guns (as well as a multitude of other things), dialogue for Isaac that can't go two seconds without exclaiming "fuck", and the oh so popular trend of aping what's hot right now. (i.e. Call of Duty, Gears of War, Uncharted; explosions aplenty, needless elementary accessibility, cover system, human opponents ((with guns!)), quick time events everywhere ((not to say Dead Space didn't have them, but like I said, it isn't nauseatingly saturated)))

I loved Dead Space. Dead Space 2 I merely liked, as it strayed away from survival horror and was essentially Uncharted Space 2. Dead Space 3 certainly has aspects in it I'm interested in like the crafting and (gasp!) the co-op, but the co-op would be something I wouldn't play first.

5 million copies for the franchise to survive.
5 million copies for the franchise to survive.
I just find myself fatigued with the industry's nickel and diming, mainstream pandering, and making cash-cows out of promising IPs. EA found their Call of Duty, and I don't agree with it.

Honestly I would find the song apropos if it were the original Phil Collins song. There's something chilling about that song. Also I thought the franchise was supposed to get more epic in scale with each iteration, I'm tired of people complaining about sequels (even by the same developers) not fitting the "spirit" of a franchise they had no part in creating. It's not your game to make, it's your game to play (or not play). Get used to it.

I think "In the Air Tonight" was an inspired choice for this trailer. The cover wasn't amazing but it wasn't ear-rape like Rihanna either.

It's a wash, honestly.

you know I'm alright with an action game in the Dead Space setting. It kind of makes sense too once you leave the abandoned ship from the first game. I just think the new Lost Planet is going to be a better version of this idea. So good luck with DS3 I guess.

Really bummed. This just looks like nothing I want from a Dead Space game, oh well, there are plenty of other titles to play.

Yep, this. To see such a promising IP butchered and given the AAA treatment is just deflating.

They're expecting to move five million copies of this thing. That's how misguided and untrue to itself this series has gotten.

Better with Kinect.

It has pretty much always been a AAA game considering how much marketing previous installments had, especially DS2.

Also everyone realizes that the better with Kinect is just some extra voice gimmicks they put in? That a nice man sent over from Visceral won't stand in your room with a gun to your head nodding towards your kinect?

Has everyone just become so bitter and unhappy with their lives that we need to literally shit on every single game before it comes out? I can't remember the last time I read a trailer comments thread where people here were actually excited for anything.

Yeah there was a distinct lack of ung ahh ahh ahh for this to be nu-metal.

I don't know that sounds like some kind of crap cover that somebody like Adema would do.

The song was terrible and this is the first bit of DS3 preview content I've seen and I'm kind of digusted? I know they were saying that horror and tension is hard to demo but... I mean, there's an awful lot of things exploding and jetpacking and such. I dunno. This just looks like it's becoming like a darker Halo.
