Haha, that's a nice way of putting it. We had a good run, video games, but I think it's time to cash out.

Also, let me remind folks that Spark Unlimited was the developer of such fine video games like Turning Point: Fall of Liberty (which I have a distinct memory of getting from Gamefly long long ago and putting back in the mail after 20 minutes because holy shit that is a bad game) and Legendary, although I guess since they are just a collaborator here and not the sole developer, who is to say what exactly their role is.

Everyone keeps asking when games will have their "Citizen Kane" moment.

It's time to start asking when every other medium will have its "Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z" moment. This game is the pinnacle of humanity's creative endeavors.

The graphics look great, but the dialogue/everything else, looks fucking awful.

Nah, I'm not so sure I agree. NGII was already a step back from NGB. However, this obviously is a different take on that series and it looks like it will be fun to play. I'm going to play it.

This game looks like it could be cool if you played it on mute.

Am I the only one that likes the look of the game? The visual style/combat stuff that is, everything else was embarrassing for all of us.

I think everyone can agree that the visual style is awesome, but they really really really do their best to make you forget that.

I kind of like how terrible everything looks in this game, its sort of admirable, and the combat looks okay.

I hope they QL it, would be a good video.

Keiji may be a pretty cool guy with some of the stuff hes made. but some of the games hes done is kinda not so good. then we look at spark unlimited who also has a hand in this with such "gems" as Turning Point: Fall of Liberty and Legendary...

That's... um... a pretty different angle for Ninja Gaiden... I think I'd rather play a less EXTREME version more along the lines of the original with a more realistic and slealth-based approach.

I went from really wanting to give this new Ninja Gaiden game a go (from the first E3 trailer) to really not wanting ANYTHING to do with it in a matter of like 10 seconds of this trailer.

Wow... just wow. I was interested in this game because it looked fun and had a cool art style but on principle alone if this is the actual game dialogue then the devs can fuck right off. You can do crude sex joke humor without being disgustingly insulting to women guys.

But. Every. Single. Line. Of. Dialogue. From. The Protagonist. Is. Just. Gross.

If someone told me that another Ninja Gaiden game could come out and have comparatively way less excessive cheesecake than Itagaki's games but still completely out do it in the misogynistic crass department, I might have laughed in their face.

Oh, good! Then they'll have plenty of time to take out all of that embarrassing temp dialogue they had their high school intern record and replace it with the actual dialogue of the game!

So the worst part of this thing is that a day later, I'm starting to think "Take a suck" is actually kind of hilarious. Like, there's something kind of amazing that they're trying so fucking hard to be edgy and crass that they went and made up an entirely new expression because none of the existing one's were gross enough.

It's kind of friggin' beautiful.

Ughhh, yaknow... somehow this kind of humor seems to work in something like No More Heroes, but here it just feels like they're trying too hard and it just comes off as gross. It's not even funny, either, so what's the point?

Also, I'm now picturing in my head the person who wrote all of this shitty dialogue, and he looks like the kind of person I wouldn't want to associate myself with. I'm just surprised they even passed the script through to the final product. Like... how does that even happen?

I am rarely offended but this... this disgusts me.

The male character in this trailer speaks to the female character in a way which suggests that her only value, to him anyway, is as a sex object. It is sexist by definition, both by letter of the rule and implied as well.

I guess this is what happens when you hire a 14 year old to write your game.

Who knows. The game itself could be fun. The dialog reminds me heavily of Bulletstorm and the dialog in that was plain stupid, however it worked with the gameplay and if the whole "undead cyborg comic book ninja" thing is to be believed then this seams no worse than some of the aweful dialog you would find in some Dark Horse comics or other Comic Book style videogames like Comic Jumper.

Still, it does seam stupid but the art style and gameplay itself looks interesting enough to at least try it... As long as it's not a full retail price game of course.

I can get behind certain flavors of dumb.

I loved Shadows of the Damned and Bulletstorm. I had a ton of fun with Asura's Wrath.

But this doesn't seem at all playful in its shitty misogyny and general idiocy. From the trailer, there's no sense of tongue-in-cheek in the writing or delivery.

That's about the only good thing about this. I haven't cringed at the "humor" this hard since Duke Nukem: Forever, and I like crude humor.
