ZombiU Coming to PC, Xbox One and PS4, Is Just Called Zombi Now

A bad game title gets even worse, I'm all for it.

Since the PS4 and Xbone are just standard PC architecture, it'd actually be really cool if they included an emulated port of the original Zombi as a bonus.

It was neat on the WiiU, but I imagine losing the gamepad features kills some of the uniqueness it had on the WiiU and just yet another zombie survival game.

Should be Zombi4 and ZombiOne respectively.

It's coming to PC too, kinda forgot to mention that in the title there.

....Because this looks basically exactly like Dead Island to me. I'm not saying that's exactly a terrible thing but it's been done, and (again unless I'm missing something) been done better in Dying Light.

A somehow dumber name, but who cares? I loved this game and will love it again.

@graf1k: It's a lot different than Dead Island -- each encounter is way more difficult, for starters. To the point where, when facing the prospect of two zombies descending on you at once, the best thing to do is probably run (or, at the very least, divide and conquer). Supplies are at an extreme premium and death comes very easy. The enemies in Dead Island are mostly mindless, whereas these are genuinely dangerous.

Plus, when you die, you lose all your supplies ... unless you kill your zombified past self and take them back.

Oh man I just bought this from the eShop because they're having a Ubisoft sale. I wonder if I should wait to play this on the newer consoles, or on the original it was made for.

I thought UbiSoft really just buried the title as a Wii-U launch because the concept had been in development for so long and they just wanted to get something out to sell. I'm really excited to see it on other platforms, even if losing the gamepad functionality might be an issue.

For what it's worth, the gamepad adds a lot to the experience. Not essential, but one of the better uses I've seen for it.

I should probably finish this game sometime. It's really good but too damn hard for me.

I got ZombiU used awhile back and still havent played it. Might try it sometime soon.

ZombiU was great in concept, piss poor in execution. Still a game worth revisiting though and if this sells well and it means we'll be getting a game adaptation (in name only) to the BEST horror film ever made, I'm satisfied.

While the loss of gamepad is a shame, it does seem like the game will at the very least sport more melee weapons which is cool. Could recognise all the areas shown though.

I remember this game having enough interesting ideas that I wanted to try it. Maybe now I will.

They better add coop and more weapons.

this came out of nowhere. My guess is Ubi think there is enough potential with this that they are releasing the original to a wider audience to gauge interest. If enough people purchase and like it that's probably what they need in order to make a sequel. I liked ZombiU but wasn't totally into everything it was doing. I remember wandering around alot looking for items I needed to progress and having a hell of a time finding them. If they can make the objectives more interesting and less, well boring, I'm all in.

But you see, it's not Wii - it's now on the PC.

I was considering picking this game up for my Wii U (which I got recently) about a month ago due to Giant Bomb staff recommendations. Now I'll just get it on Steam. Huzzah!

Still Waiting for zombie U2

The WiiU was my barrier of entry on this game, looking forward to the PC version.

Might think about it when it comes to PC but chances of it not being a broken mess and/or capped at a resolution and frame rate will have me wait and watch to see how the community takes to it.

I'm actually kind of eager to play this. I tried it on the Wii U and while I didn't hate it, using the gamepad for gun play never gelled with me. Seems like a regular reticle aim would have worked far better.

Of course the backpack feature was fun and created tension, that will be missed. But still, I'll pick this up for sure. :)

Ooooo i get to play this!! Should be fun on pc! Maybe i could get the backpack thing to work on my iphone ? That would be a neat implementation.

So...Smartglass and whatever Sony has (do they even have anything like that?) support, maybe? Not sure why they'd bother if the gamepad stuff from the Wii U version was gone.

Well, that definitely looks like WiiU-caliber graphics to me. Is this a $5-$10 game?

Well, that answers the only question I had about the port.

@rirse: Certainly, but it's still a fairly good game.

It cops a lot of flak for being a zombie game, but despite the clunky gameplay, it's fairly atmospheric, the world is very well designed, and there's a fair amount of tension in the gameplay.

Could do without the jumpscares, though.

Not a bad game at all, this makes me want to go back and finish it.

However, this is quite possibly the weirdest port I've seen yet...
