Anyone excited to give this a try? I admit I wasn't hot on this game before and after seeing this new trailer, I still dont think the "humor" is for me but I try pretty much every f2p eventually so I will check it out.

Surprised it took this long. Might give it another go.

To this day, this is still the best playing MMO IMO, beating even TERA in terms of action based combat. The biggest issues for most people came from the raid attunement at the end of the game being really grindy. I even bought another month recently because I felt like giving it another go. As per usual with MMOs that go from paid to F2P the community is sort of upset, but it is a really good business decision.

I might pop back in and see where things are at now. But it'll have to have improved a substantial amount to win me back from WoW. Also, lag in this game sucks significantly worse than lag in any other MMO I've played due to the combat mechanics.

This game could really do with console implementation. So much promise squandered.

When this game came out I predicted it would go F2P between six months and a year after release...people thought I was nuts, but here we are.

I can't even remember the last time I saw someone on the forums talking about WildStar in any context. I still have no interest in it even as a F2P MMO.

Did people really you think you were nuts for predicting that? After that initial month of release, all I can remember were the large amount of people on the internet saying the same thing you did (Same with ESO)

You guys should seriously look at the restrictions that the F2P players are getting.

Been waiting for this to go f2p since before it launched. I will try this.

Game has one of the worst " attitudes " I've ever seen. No thanks.

I might jump into this depending on how they handle the free vs. pay. I recently jumped back into swtor for a bit and I just realized how insane the f2p method is on there where almost nearly everything is locked up behind a pay wall, even the amount of exp you gain from completing a mission.

I totally plan to check it out.
I played WoW back in the day but grew really tired of the Tab/hotkey style combat. Especially once I tried Guild Wars 2. The more action based combat with active dodges and stuff like that really opened my eyes.
Now that I saw Wildstars combat, I'm really excited to check it out and play it as soon as possible.

So although I didn't know about this until today the date of the free-to-play launch has been announced as September 29th. It would also appear that some other changes are coming to the game with it being rebranded as WildStar: Reloaded continuing the Marvel Heroes trend of MMO's rebranding:

Darn, a few weeks to late. I had MMO itch to scratch and reactivated my WoW account. Having not played since Cataclysm, I'm really liking the new stuff. Lets see how long this lasts.

Free to Play begins tonight at midnight.

I was talking this game up quite a bit up till release, I had intended to get really involved with it but got busy with other things. By the time I was able to consider giving it a go it was well after players had quit playing and the server hadn't been merged at that point into the megaserver, I just never came back at that point. I still felt like the game did several things well from my brief time in closed beta, but the mmo market is incredibly brutal.

Gonna try this one out again hope it will stick this time.

@fallen189: It's not that bad, being a premium player only gives you minor boost economy-wise. You can still play and have multiple characters and do all the content available in the game.

I enjoyed Windstar back in the day, but some of the rough edges made me not stick with it. For the price of free, especially since i get some perks as a box-purchased player, I will probably try it out again. Just have to actually do a ton of updates and see if my Windows install even works anymore.

How is it? I've been thinking about giving it a go, but I found the opening 4-5 levels to be so boring that I couldnt carry on. I got to the ice planet but the quests just weren't doing it for me. Does the game legitimately pick up, or is it all kinda dull like this?

I've been enjoying it. Haven't played an open PvP game since Burning Crusade WoW, so that's fun.
