Is Doom on the XBLA worth it? do people still pay it or is it not work the price?

Isn't it only $5 now? I'm sure no one plays online, but $5 is well worth it even if you just play it alone or splitscreen.

Duke is better, at least IMO.

It's not worth it to me, I can't stand Doom. I'm guessing if you do like Doom, however, it's probably worth it.

It's fun. I would buy Duke Nukem over it though. Definitely the better experience.

Yes, Duke is awesome, I still have my DOOM for my old Mac.

I think it's definitely worth it for $5 even if the MP is dead.

For your 400 points you get a pretty solid game. I checked the other night and there was a few matches still being played. Probably people boosting the multiplayer achievements though.

Doom is cheaper so I would get it.  Duke Nukem 3D is still 800 pts for now.

Doom is cool; it is definitely worth $5 for live multiplayer, good controls and everything else it comes with.

I would not pay $5 for such game

I would not pay anything for that game , instead I'd purchase  2 gallons of gas  :D

If you were there when Doom came out then you'll get a kick out of the nostalgia, I can't see you getting into it so much if you're used to modern shooters.

You could get about 2 1/2 gallons nowadays...but I would still pick Doom over that.

I'm kind of curious to check out Doom as well, but I can't really justify it when I already own it on Xbox (Doom 3 Collector's Edition), not to mention all of the other iterations that I've bought or rebought (PC!) multiple times. Aside from achievements, what does the XBLA version offer?

XBLA Duke Nukem 3D is pretty fun so far, but given a choice,  I'd take the Saturn and PC versions over it. At least it's not the N64 version all over again.

Thank god.

Doom is worth 5.00

But try and get Duke 3D if you can

Doom is great if you want to relive your childhood.   I wouldn't get it for any other reason tho.

Its a decent purchase if you have five dollars burning a hole in your pocket. Its about the same price as Pac-Man and has some great splitscreen and online co-op options. If you mess around with it for a few play sessions off and on its worth it. The gameplay hasn't held up as well as you'd think and the title is available for free on just about every other platform imagineable.

Just make sure you have a few friends with the title first otherwise there isn't much value in it.
