Why Can't they  just have the live only achievements become Gold Subscriber exclusive?
I mean This Way We Can Have 1000  OFFLINE Achievos   and maybe 500 extra for the multiplayer, It only makes sense .

    1.  Gold  Subscribers get 500 Bonus Achievements   making paying for xbox live a little better.
    2. Every game you buy will have a guaranteed 1000 achievements that cannot become impossible because of server shutdown.
    3 . everyones happy.

Thoughts, flaws, better ideas?  Would you pay for this?

    * this is just a crazy idea i had , im shure everyone else has had better ideas before .  Have you ever had any other cruaaazy idea to better xblive?

No I wouldn't pay for that...maybe they could just get rid of online achievements altogether and make the multiplayer better / worth playing.

How is this any better than the system already in place?  I mean, multiplayer achievements are already essentially gold-exclusives, unless you can get them through the game's co-op/split screen.  And if a game comes with 1500 achievement points, then the race is to get to 1500 points, not 1000.

I think this idea is pointless.

No more online achievements would be better...  I wouldn't mind if avatar unlocks were tied to online only stuff though.

It only makes sense to give an extra incentive of 500 points worth absolutely nothing for the price of 50 dollars a year. /s

Online achievements are pretty sweet. Especially when you find two copies of a game for 5 bucks and have a friend to achieve whore with.

I don't play games primarily for achievements, though I admittedly like them.

If you were really that intent on getting 1000 points out of a game, you would probably already have gold.

Denying something to silver members that is literally cost free to MS is retarded. The goal with a subscriber based service is that services that cost money should be added (such as better servers to improve matchmaking).

I'm in the offline achievement only group.

Online are too exploitable and they can become undoable. Your idea's good in theory, but in practice it's just as impossible to 100% a game that has 1000 offline and 500 online achievements as it is to 100% one that has any combination of 1000 and that's the only reason I can think of to change the system that's in place.

I see no purpose for this change. There is no real, substantial point for achievements in the first place. Hence, neither there is to reach the full 1000. They're only placed their if players wanted to "achieve" certain goals and self satisfaction was not enough. Maybe even for bragging rights. Once one plays games only for the achievements; they're not playing, they're working.

it is way too late for that ... LOL

and my guess is that when the next microsoft console launches in the distant future, games might have 10 000 achievement points, just like XBLA games have less points than Retail xbox 360 games...
