3 days and 7 hours before it unlocks not sure if I can wait that long without going insane, if they were to add a 10$ fee for instant unlock I would pay.
Totally. This is one of those rare games where I can't believe I'll be playing it soon. I hardly ever get that hyped up anymore.

I hope GreenManGaming sends out my damn key soon!

I got my Borderlands 2 key about a weekish beforehand.

If I don't get it by Monday I may cancel my pre-order and pick it up on steam, regardless of the 15 buck difference. I haven't been this hyped for a game since Oblivion was coming out in like 2008
EDIT: Green Officially announced we will get the keys starting tomorrow!

FUCK YEAH!
@Forderz: 12 gigs is nothing compared to Max Payne 3, Rage, The Witcher 2 and so on. But yeah on the 360 i would expect some pretty wicket compression when it comes to the cut scenes

Anyone have any idea when Civ V should be arriving?
If you pre-ordered from steam you should have it already. Look under your library under Sid Meier!

I got it from XCOM from Greenman.

Up in EU too, can't wait.
Yeah, but we wont be able to play until friday, that is so fucked up.
It's steam! Like you could use a proxy and play the game 3 days earlier, but I don't want to risk having my account with over 300 games banned.
I don't understand why they're still doing that shit to us, pisses me off.
If you dont want to wait until Friday you guys might want to try this :-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYbLD_Q2RqQ you will still have to wait until the 9th but its better then the 12th :-)
hope this helps GLHF!
@AbeBroHamLincon:
Yeah, you could get banned for doing that.
Man... I'm thinking of buying the game with a new steam account, and using that, so if it gets banned its no biggy. I dunno if playing 3 days earlier is worth the extra 60 bucks (since I already bought it on my main account).

Pre-loaded. I'm one of many people coming into this game with zero history with the XCOM franchise, but I'm on board due to the Firaxis association. Played me the shit out of Civ 5, and loved that game to all hell. Expectations and excitement are pretty high for this one.
Oh man, I wish I could see the look on your face when you see the difference in tone between the two series.

I'm in the same boat for the most part. I've seen the previous XCOM before but never played it. Heard it was hard as hell though. But I'm getting this because Firaxis. They are on my instant buy list right up there with Valve. I still consider Civ 5 the best civ and I know that's heresy for a lot of people. I've played them all since Civ 2, but I just love Civ 5. I think mostly because there are no more "stacks of doom". I have faith Firaxis can make a fun XCOM game! I'm really looking forward to it! Preloaded and ready to go!
@MosaicM80: Stacks of doom in Civ4 were pretty lame, yeah. I like almost everything except the combat better in Civ4 over Civ5, but 5 does streamline things nicely.
And get ready to get your ass handed to you, provided you play on Classic or above.
Even if you haven't played the original, I recommend starting on Ironman, Normal. Not being able to fix mistakes is an integral part of the X-COM experience.

if anybody wants my free copy of Civ 5 let me know
Is it too late?
Ontopic: I wish you could pre install on Xbox before you put the game in. Still have 3 and 1/2 hours before the midnight launch here and I have to sleep early but I don't want to waste time installing.
@SomeDeliCook: nope. I've never gifted anything on steam before but im guessing you just need to send me your username and i can punch that in.

To gift, you just click on the games tab at the very top of the steam menu and Manage Gifts and Guest Passes
my email is derrickwie@yahoo.com or steam account hydratedpinkus
