    Generally, the omission of the numbers in the date is used to create the general feel of the period (usually the future) without necessarily pegging the exact time frame. This can be useful, in some contexts, to tell multiple stories in a similar time period without the hassle of committing to, for example, when exactly each Megaman happens, but giving some flavour.
