    Overview

    Yokoyama Mitsuteru Sangokushi, named for renowned manga artist Yokoyama Mitsuteru, is a Bandai published (via subsidiary Angel) and TOSE developed series of games that are based on the anime of the same name, which in turn are based on Mitsuteru's manga, which is based on the Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms (Sangokushi is its Japanese name). This gives the series the rare distinction of being video games based on a cartoon based on a comic based on literature.

    The first two games in the series - Yokoyama Mitsuteru Sangokushi and Yokoyama Mitsuteru Sangokushi II - are war sims in the vein of Koei's Romance of the Three Kingdoms. The third, Yokoyama Mitsuteru Sangokushi Bangi, is a less complex board game variant on the same conflict.
