Flower, Sound Shapes, Flow, Escape Plan Head to PS4

Michael Corleone: Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in.

Retroactively making these games cross-buy is fantastic. I now own 4 PS4 games already, and with Resogun and at least a portion of Drive Club coming with the now practically required PS+, will give me plenty to play without a full new game purchase.

When I first heard the news Flower and Flow were coming to PS4 I was bit miffed because I already own them on PS3 and with non backwards compatibility this gave me a bad taste for digital distribution going forward. This is a great move of good faith by Sony.

Sony's really all in on looking out for their core audience/winning people over this gen. Huge contrast to the start of the last console cycle.

Flower is one of my favourite games of this generation. I was going to buy it again, so the news that I don't even have to is a nice surprise.

No Journey? :( They could really catch a lot of people just now flocking to Sony.

Gotta keep throwin' out those freebies to pad the library at launch so we can forget about the lack of Watch Dogs AND Driveclub.

That's cool, but I don't really care about any of these games.

No confirmation on Driveclub yet, but yeah, seems to be no lack of PS4 launch titles and there seems to be a new handful announced every day or two. I believe their launch lineup is around 33 titles right now.

I imagine even if DC is delayed, it'll be a short delay, and we'll see it in January at the latest.

@krakn3dfx: Re: Driveclub, if it were just a rumor I'd bet Sony would just come right out and stomp on it. More likely that they are scrambling to figure out what to give as that Day One PS+ freebie in place of DC, and if it would be a full game (which the DC PC+ Edition wasn't) or a "lite" version of something. I'm betting the former but we'll see.

I'm not terribly upset or anything since I've got plenty to play on my PS3 currently, still picking up a PS4 Nov. 15th, and will be fine with Knack, KZ, Contrast, Resogun, and whatever other PS+ freebies I get through till next year. I just feel bad for Sony since this shit sandwich they're having to eat was lovingly prepared by people not themselves.

I played Driveclub at Eurogamer a few weeks ago and it looked and played like shit. If they delay it so it actually looks good and plays well, then that's for the better.

That's pretty cool. I hope some day they can get Journey onto the PS4, this game amazes me every time I play it.

It seems like I'm the only one reacting like, "Hmm, I already played them. A better running version of a game I played for not so long ago is not that interesting."

I guess it's nice that they are having BC on downloadable titles but I have no idea why everyone are losing their shit over it. In short, Sony is buying our love with someting that doesn't cost them shit. And this way they make sure that PS+ will not have PS4 tittles as the freebies in the near future.

Add Journey to that list and I'll be a day one adopter.

Definitely. Whereas with WD one can speculate whether need to polish or fear of sales cannibalization was to blame, in the case of DC it seems like it just needs more work, so I'm glad it'll hopefully get the extra attention it needs.

The demo I played may have been super old but when it's presented to the public, you want to put your best foot forward and it didn't represent what the devs were speaking about back in Feb. The game had no AA to speak of and for the most part looked like a PS3 game. The footage I've seen from GT6 looks better in all honesty. I do think it could be a good game if they do delay it and polish it as I did enjoy the mini challenges throughout the race.

Sorry to butt in, but are you guys actually talking about Driveclub or Ubisoft's delayed "The Crew"?

@benderunit22: Driveclub. Ubi delays are so passé lol The going rumor-- rumor because neither Evolution nor Sony have weighed in to confirm but neither have they moved to quash it either-- is that the game is also being delayed until next Spring, reportedly because it just felt rough still.

If this is true, I expect the delay in Sony confirming it is because they are scrambling to clarify what the PS4 PS+ freebie is going to be since it appears the carrot of Driveclub PS+ edition is no longer there.

Several anonymous sources have said that Driveclub has been delayed. There is no official announcement yet, but as people are saying, it didn't really seem to be ready according to the latest impressions from players and journalists at recent shows, so it seems pretty likely that the game will be delayed to next year.

The Steam policy should apply to all digital download services. If you bought the game on one platform and it becomes available later on another platform you should have access to that version as well, otherwise digital ownership is a dark and windy road.

Good to see that Sony is pursuing this policy, just wish they would enforce it for other publishers. I'm looking at you Atlus!

Does this mean that I own fl0w on PS VITA already? That'd be a welcome improvement.

How about putting the PixelJunks on PS4 and PS VITA? That'd be nice.

I've been looking at the latest crop of PS+ sale items and hoping that more downloadable games get on this buy-for-one-system-gets-it-for-both trend. I have the feeling that if I get the Capcom Arcade now, I'll probably have my fill of it only to want to return to it somewhere down the line.

@jdillinger: Hardly. It was just a rough demo. Titanfall isn't out until next year but the demo they've let people play is incredible.

All games I bought on PSN for PS3 should be available to me on PS4. That's why I lean towards getting Steam versions of games instead of PSN because I know even if I get another PC(as opposed to a PS4), I still own those games and can play them on my new PC.
