A sports franchise, where players could go to the XSN website, and schedule their own tournaments, seasons, or games either by creating their own or joining others. The website would then give you the time that your game is scheduled at, and you and your opponent would meet online at the same time. The stats of the game would then be automatically uploaded to the XSN website, and the tournament would continue. If neither player showed up to the scheduled game time, then a winner would be chosen at random.
Before being cancelled, XSN sports announced that rather then going annual like competitors such as EA sports and the 2K series, XSN sports would release games every 2 years and allow updates to roster via DLC.
