The Community Spotlight 2021.11.20

Here at The Community Spotlight, we always... take out... the balls.

Hello, Giant Bomb community. Welcome to the latest edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight! I, @zombiepie, am once again honored to be your host as we look back at the best community created offerings from the week. Before we get to that, we have some site-related housekeeping to discuss. First, many thanks to Dave Lang for streaming for Giant Bomb's Extra Life team and raising over $50,000! If you missed the fun, remember donation pages are open until December 31, 2021.

In terms of premium content, this week had two big announcements. First, last Monday saw the debut of the Voicemail Dump Truck. If you have enjoyed Ben's voice mail bits during the main podcast, they have been spun off into their own premium show. Second, Jan is being guided through the first Silent Hill game by Jess in a new show titled "Run for the Hills." Finally, premium subscriptions will be one sale until the end of the year. If you need a gift for a fellow Giant Bomb fan, look no further.

Amazing work from Lang all around!

Alright everyone, this will probably be the last time I put a dedicated section to Extra Life in the Community Spotlight. First, please remember that Dave Lang wants donations for his stream to go to Giant Bomb's Extra Life account. Second, don't forget the Giant Bomb Discord is doing an event as well and is hoping to raise $2,069. Finally, if you want to see a spreadsheet of who collected the most donations, Marino has you covered.

I remember having friends in high school that were into the Rogue Warrior book.

I'm not lying when I say this is maybe the best researched and cited work of writing on the site. It is an absolute MUST READ!

I know I promoted it last week, but this list is worth repeating. Giant Bomb user dnemitz42 is doing a bit of a social experiment where they rank every character that is suggested to them in the comments of their list. So far, they are now 18 characters deep with a few "SPICY" takes.

Wiki Page Recommendations

Alright everyone, a while back you may recall Giant Bomb's "Wiki Page of the Week" feature. Some have pointed out that the feature is no longer on the front page, and I am here to tell you to "relax." The feature is far from dead, but it needs YOUR HELP! The staff want your suggestions to populate in a list that will rotate every week! Much like everything on the Community Spotlight, self-promotion is ENCOURAGED!
