Welcome to the latest edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight! I, @zombiepie, am once again honored to be your host as we look back at the best community creations from the previous week! Well, June is almost here and that means "NOT E3" is right around the corner!
I guess I have forgotten to mention on the Spotlight, but Grubb and Jan have been busy planning things for the site during what would normally be E3. Grubb is already scheduling an in-person gathering event similar to what the site did in years' past. And Jan found the old couch! Over on the Giant Bomb Discord Grubb relayed that he plans to book 50ish people to attend this year's Giant Bomb @ Nite event with groups of four to five. It should be incredibly exciting and expect more details SOON!
The site video player issues are almost resolved. The site engineers are aware there are still some of you that are having issues, but thanks to all of the information you have all shared about the Cookies, they think they know what to do next. That said, the same advice as before still holds for those of you that want a quick fix so you can watch videos on the site.
- Clear all cookies
- Click on "Show Purposes" OR "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" at the bottom of the site
- Enable "Performance Cookies" only.
Right, so classic videos and podcasts. Last week, Dylan/dtoast had a meeting with the site's Engineering Manager. They said they wanted more links and another summarization about what exactly is happening with podcasts. With the issues with the video player almost finished, the message I can relay is that the RSS Feed and podcast downloading issues are priority number two. Continue to report video issues here and podcast downloading problems here.
Speaking of Dylan, I will be having a Discord meeting with him on Tuesday. If you have any concerns or pressing issues with site functions, drop a comment and I will remember to share them during the meeting.
