Banning by region
America
Since Brown v. Entertainment Merchant's Association, the United States government has recognized video games as protected speech. Because of this, no explicitly legal action can be taken to ban the sale of certain video games. However, many major retailers refuse to sell video games without an ESRB rating, and will do the same for those rated AO (Adults Only). In essence, these games are effectively banned from sale.
The Guy Game was banned in United States after it was revealed that one of the ladies that appears in the videos was underage.
Europe
Belgium and Netherlands banned all games with loot boxes, such as Mario Kart Tour, for considering them as illegal gambling.
