AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so good.... where can I buy this on steam....
Game » consists of 23 releases. Released Oct 18, 2011
God damnit Brad everything else was so great but you had to fucking spoil that Joker scene.I know it's not too big but I don't want to know ANY plot moments...AT ALL!!!
So hey I guess don't watch whatever trailers they are going to put out for it either huh?
Better yet, just stay off the internet completely.
I want this game so bad, it's crazy. I loved the first to death and I haven't heard anything bad about this game so far. As far as the spoiler goes, I'm assuming that it's not as major as it sounds, especially if they're allowing it to be reported a few weeks before the game is released, calm down folks.
eh, if it wasn't GB it would have been some other rival video game site. Still would have been nice to experience this on my own though

Then don't read about the game.................. the title of this story screamed obvious...

@DaBuddaDa Just because rocksteady wants it to be known doesn't mean we have to or should know about it should we be constantly feed the info that pr wants us to being a responsible journalist doesn't mean regurgitating all the info but knowing when to hold back also the fact that it's most likely a bait and switch Is irrelevant
Have to agree here. Although it's kind of obvious that they wouldn't reveal this bit of information if it were that heavy of a plot point, you ( Brad ) as someone who "see's firsthand all the time how protective developers are of their games before they're released" might take into consideration that this game is quite possibly one the of few games that the average game enthusiast might be able to afford this year, and that this bit of information is something they maybe would have liked to discover for themselves. Enjoyed the article otherwise.
It's a spoiler because it spoils the first 2 hours of the game for me. Now I'll know, 2 hours in, as I'm making my way through the foundry, exactly what kind of cutscene is awaiting me. There won't be any surprise when I step into that final room.
I feel mad at myself, mostly. I usually try to avoid all spoilers for an anticipated game, implementing my own media blackout. This title and the first half made me think, hm, maybe it's just mechanics. Plus Brad has always been very spoiler sensitive. It Even if Rocksteady specifically requested you mention it in your coverage, that doesn't mean you shouldn't slap a spoilertag onto the fact that the arch nemesis and final boss of the first game dies in the beginning of the second, complete with timestamp and location of death. Really?
One of the most memorable moments of Arkham Asylum for me was when a certain minor character dies unexpectedly in one of the cutscenes due to a booby trap. I was really surprised, and thought "wow, that's messed up." Up until that point I didn't expect to see anyone actually die in the game, just get roughed up a bit. I'd be annoyed if someone told me what was going to happen before I walked into that room to trigger the scene. This is about 10x worse because it's the freaking JOKER.
Unless he gets back up right away, this is a fucking spoiler. It tells us that the joker is going to fake die 2 hours in. So when I get 2 hours in and the game is trying to make me think the joker is dead, I will now not think that.
Great
It's entirely up to the developers to decide what they show -- media just reports what they've been shown. If something is going to spoil the users' experience, they simply won't show it. They know how to sell their games, and will put content in trailers, drop hints in interviews, and show media clips to report on accordingly. It's the game devs and marketing folks who released this info, not Brad (or Kotaku, for that matter). Let's have this discussion again when they game's out, and see how many people didn't enjoy it as much because of this.
Good article Brad, as ever.
At first after reading that part, I got a bit "Oh, damn. I wouldn't have minded that not being included..." feeling, but mneh. Before starting to read the whole article I already thought to myself "Not another goddamned Arkham City preview!!1 Must not read it..." but of course I did, just like I've watched all them trailers so far! One could've already cursed Penguin trailer to the depths of hell for spoiling Grundy's appearance.
No it didn't.The title didn't say there would be any story bits discussed and Brad never said ahead of time that he would talk about the story.@popmasterruler said:

Oh internet, you make me sick sometimes.
Guys, seriously, give Brad a break, get hype about Arkham City, and save your energy complaining about what constitutes a spoiler for something more worthwhile, like political injustice or pre-order bonuses. This isn't a big deal.

Yeah, I can see both sides, but I have to side with Xeirus on this one, common sense says that if you don't want a game spoiled for yourself then don't read anything about it, the chances of it been spoiled are diminished to literally zero. So... Well you know the rest...
Also, chill out, while videogames are awesome you're being a tad overzealous in your reaction.
Haha, pre-order bonuses are big deals but spoilers aren't? Obviously, what constitutes a "big deal" is subjective.Guys, seriously, give Brad a break, get hype about Arkham City, and save your energy complaining about what constitutes a spoiler for something more worthwhile, like political injustice or pre-order bonuses. I understand that it's just a game but a little heads up that there is a spoiler in this article would have been nice. I'd seen some people on twitter getting upset about this from other sites and thought no way will GB run with a spoiler or if they do they'll be kind enough to mention it. Oh well knowing that its a DC game means the Joker won't stay dead sadly lol plus its only at the start so there will be loads of other twists and turns.
I can't believe the amount of people here bitching about "spoilers" it's not as if Brad ruined the major plot twist or anything, it's just a dumb thing that happens early on the game
Thank man, it's not like I wanted to find that out for myself. Either way the game sounds like it's going to be a blast. Looking forward to playing the hell our of it.
If I didn't want spoilers about Arkham City I would have stopped looking at all the game's coverage once the character reveals started coming in.
That's just me tho.
I think it is certainly reasonable to complain... at least a little. I'm not throwing a bitch fit... but I don't think adding the 'joker dies' thing helped the article in anyway...
and when in doubt about adding possible spoilers in an article, I think that is how you need to measure it, Only include it if it is necessary to make your point and truly doesn't take anything away from the story. And since we didn't need to know that joker croakes (at least for a moment)... well, it was a slight bad call on Brad's part.
WHAT. THE. HELL BRADLEY!!!!!
JOKER DIES???
BATMAN IS REALLY BRUCE WAYNE???
WHISTLING WHILE CUTTING ONIONS WILL STOP YOUR EYES FROM WATERING????
Keep doing your thing Brad. EFF THESE CLOWNS.
WTF, people need to stop stealing on the Navarro headline. Could of sworn this was an Alex piece by the headline.
I'm not usually one to complain about these, but come on, but some kind of warning in or something. I really didn't want to see that, thought this article was about the game's overall performance.
