A fine return to the series' roots
Ah battlefield, it is good to have you back. I first got into the Battlefield series at a friends house, when we played some BF 1942 on his PC. I was mesmerized. Unfortunately, my PC at the time was a POS incapable of gaming, so for 5 long years, no more battlefield. Then Battlefield Bad Company 2 came out. However, by then, I had a gaming PC. I picked it up for that and had even more fun than I did on my PC. I then decided to try out battlefield 2 on my PC. When I played my first 64 player Conquest map, I has hooked. I eventually downloaded and played the Project reality mod for BF2, and I looked that. i then picked up Battlefield 2142 and loved the Titian game mode. Now it is 2011, and Battlefield 3 has dropped. All I can say is that it is the FINEST battlefield game to date. The combination of 64 players, vehicles, Frostbite 2 powered destruction, makes this a GREAT multiplayer FPS. While the single player campaign is a little short and the story isn't anything groundbreaking, it does a good job of showing you all of the different things you get to do in multiplayer and it shows off the Frostbite 2 engine in all of it's glory. and to be honest, I have NEVER gotten a Battlefield game for it's single player campaign. Now, a good campaign is always a plus, but multiplayer is always the main attraction. Also, the new co-op mode is a blast to play with a friend, and even random public co-op games are fun. all in all, anyone who likes battlefield, or fun FPS games in general, should definitely pick up Battlefield 3.
