Now I know haters are gonna hate, but here's my opinion.
Watching the 10 Minutes of the game footage here on GB, i got mad excited for the game.
Main character sounds interesting enough, the whole powers and guns things look way cool, and all that.
Of course, still Bioshock. But unlike Bioshock 2 (which i liked as a shooter, not for the story) this episode of "more Bioshock" is one I can get behind. The same sense of grandeur and complete insanity that I felt watching/playing Bioshock 1 for the first time quickly crept over me watching the footage.
Also, knowing how usually fake early "gameplay" trailers are, take this with a grain of salt. But if thats how the gameplay will routinely be for Infinite? Day one copy sold for me. It looked so intense, just flying from one imaginative set piece to the next, to all sorts of crazy stuff happening.
So, caught me as excitedly optimistic. Anyone else getting this same vibe?

The third game in the BioShock series leaves the bottom of the sea behind for an entirely new setting - the floating city of Columbia, circa 1912. Come to retrieve a girl named Elizabeth, ex-detective Booker DeWitt finds more in store for him there than he could ever imagine.
Anyone else excitedly optimistic?
I need 30 more minutes. Thank you.
They love incorporating my two biggest fears in the whole wide world.
Heights... and mass amount of water........ But that video looked smexy
I think it shouldn't be called Bioshock. Call it I don't know Airshock or Skyshock. Well actually no, those sound terrible but I don't know for me Bioshock I associate it with the city of Rapture, and this is something else. I know this is pure marketing and they need to use the Bioshock name because it's already a popular franchise and starting a new one may be risky but still they could try something new that sounds good enough.
I'm excited for it I guess.
I love the setting so far and am totally NOT in the 'it's super scripted, so it's bad' boat.
Bioshock was on of the best shooters ever made and it was scripted as hell, so BRING ON MORE!
After listening to the interview Ken Levine did with Jeff, you can really tell that this is a team that cares about making a quality product. I'm not worried one bit.
I'm super excited. Then again, having skipped Bioshock 2, I'm totally ready for some more Bioshock.
Hrm... Hopefully Steam would put Bioshock 2 up for sale so I can grab it.
I don't know. I'm intrigued by the new direction, but I can't say I'm fully on board with the game yet.
Bioshock, the original, was amazing. It was awesome. But I didn't need a new Bioshock. I really didn't. Bioshock 2 didn't do anything for me.
I was almost going to write off Bioshock: Infinite as a dumb marketing move. But shit, after watching the footage and watching the entire interview with Ken Levine, I'm on board. They know what they're doing and I'm ready for Bioshock to grow them wings.
Very excited to see how well they can implement Elizabeth as a reliable AI. From watching that interview with Ken Levine as well as the 10-minute demo, I'm stoked.
I was a little hesitant before, but after watching the 10 minute "gameplay" demo, I got super excited about it. I just like the whole theme and atmosphere of the game.
I really liked what I saw in the gameplay footage. The visuals look fantastic, the gameplay looks good and they're giving us back part of what was so amazing about Bioshock 1 but what Bioshock 2 lacked; a brand new brilliant environment to explore with an interesting story.
I was excited after the teaser and trailer and even more so after the other 10 minutes of footage. Regardless if that video is going to be anything like the actual gameplay, I'm in. I loveBioshock 1 and I unapologetically love Bioshock 2, so at this point, it's highly unlikely that I'd be disappointed.
Yeah, i'm actually excited for it. It's looks a lot different than past Bioshock games, the playable character talk, and there are people you can walk up to and meet in this. Bioshock 1 had a lot of "Meet me in my office and we'll talk" ... "Sorry, i'm not actually in my office but we can talk over radio"
" @Goly said:When did I say it meant water? I'm just saying I associated Bioshock with and underwater city just like System Shock was all sci-fi and futuristic. I think it shouldn't be called Bioshock. Call it I don't know Airshock or Skyshock. "Bio doesn't mean water. The puns don't make a lot of sense. Anyways, I'm ridiculously excited. It's not about opinion, it's about the literal definition of the first title. If you don't associate Bio with water (which you shouldn't) then any "Aeroshock" or similar puns don't make any logical sense." @Fjordson said:

Looks way better then any of the previous Bioshocks in my opinion. However I could never bring myself to beat Bioshock 1 so maybe my opinion isn't that valid.
Yes, yes Bioshock: Infinite looks good.
Now to the thing that got me in to this thread. Twelve avatar is hella baller!!!
Have some love <3<3<3<3

Day one purchase for me. The guys at irrational can sure craft a rich universe. I can't wait to get elbows deep in this game!
I am super exited for this game - but I almost hate that I have seen the amazing gameplay-demo - It's going to be a long hard wait for this game :) 2012? Could have waited a year or so ;)
Funny thing was i was very sceptical about the first game until i actually played it and it blew me away, the second game not so much but it was still fairly good. Im looking forward to playing this new game, the demo video that was shown on live has got me really curious about the girl you team up with, wonder if its similar to the way you teamed up with the little sisters in bioshock 2. Regardless i couldnt be more excited about this game and its going to be torture waiting on it finally being released.
As someone who couldn't care any less about the first two Bioshock games, this one looks absolutely baller. Definitely pumped for it; the wait's gonna be tough.
" @Goly: If you weren't inferring a relationship between bio and water then your original post makes even less sense "Hey, stop it. It's ok, I'll say it one last time. Bioshock (AS A FRANCHISE! NOT A COMBINATION OF TWO WORDS BIO MEANING WHATEVER THE FUCK IN GREEK AND SHOCK THE ENGLISH WORD) to me, I associated it with the city of Rapture. The franchise. Not the word bio. Now stop it, you misinterpreted me, or maybe I wasn't clear enough, but when I start to get frustrated trying to explaing something on an internet forum, there's clearly something wrong, so this will be my last reply.
" @Fjordson said:Not sure why you're getting angry. I was simply pointing out that Aero or Skyoshock don't make sense as game titles. I don't think they really give a fuck what Levine is making tbh, as long as it's Bioshocky enough to put Bioshock on the box. It seems pretty clear to me that this game is a compromise between the developer (who wanted to make something new) and the publisher (who didn't).
I don't really understand the ridiculous level of hype over the 'gameplay' trailer. It's like people have never seen a scripted event being triggered before. Aesthetically it is interesting, sure, but there was about 45 seconds of gameplay in a 10 minute video, and what gameplay there was, was so one-dimensional as to barely warrant being called gameplay in the first place.
Also, to refer to anything Elizabeth is doing in the trailer as 'AI' is somewhat overstating it I think, ditto the horse throwing boss. Those sequences will clearly trigger every single time you get to a certain point - that isn't AI, that's just a script. Show me a trailer where Elizabeth is dynamically offering up different solutions based on how the fight is progressing and I'll be interested (that's assuming it's even possible for the fights to evolve like that, which we haven't seen either). I'm not saying it won't end up being like that, but on current evidence Elizabeth is about on par with Alyx in Half-Life 2 or something - it's a neat dynamic, but nothing that we haven't seen before.
