    Overview

    Blast Entertainment was a joint venture company formed between Mastertronic Group & Disky Communications. The company was founded in 2006 in London, England.

    Blast Entertainment were best known for publishing budget-priced licensed games based on a variety of movies, television shows and books - much of which were aimed at a young market. Many of these games released exclusively for PlayStation 2, however there were some that were released for PlayStation Portable, Nintendo Wii and Microsoft Windows.

    In 2009, Blast Entertainment was closed down for unknown reasons.

    Legacy

    Many years after closure, Blast Entertainment have become notorious for their poorly made games. Some have even considered Blast to be the PS2 successor to LJN in terms of quality and quantity of published games.

    Trivia

    • Several PlayStation 2 games published by Blast Entertainment were manufactured on CDs rather than the standard DVD format.
