Is the 360 version of Bully still borked after the patches? Or should I just stick with the PS2 version?
Bully
The Bully franchise consists of only the first game and its re-release. A sequel has been rumored from time to time, but never confirmed.
Rockstar Hints at Bully Sequel Maybe Coming Eventually
I agree with anyone saying that Bully was a great game. Such a great, unique experience, creating such an original world with actually memorable characters (of course, that yearbook challenge made them even more memorable) and that music was awesome. The story, that certain vibe, each character's background, those ever-conflicting factions, the backstabbing, the sarcasm, the humor. I still remember how hard I was laughing whenever I was hiding in a garbage can, seeing how various schoolmates or prefects were tripping on the marbles or getting intoxicated from those stink bombs I laid out for them and how they randomly picked on each other thinking they were the culprit. Oh, man, such good times...
That game stands proof that you don't need blood to make a great game. It didn't have the flash and the exposure GTA San Andreas had, but, to me, it had more soul, more personality. And it's the single Rockstar sandbox style game where I actually disliked the fact that the action/story opened up beyond the school court limits into the various surrounding town areas.
Also, The Warriors is the best tribute a movie, and especially that movie, could ever hope to receive. The characters' own personal background stories and the patches that Rockstar added to the original story made the game more interesting than the actual movie.
Both Bully and The Warriors deserve better HD remakes on all current consoles.
It’s an undisputed fact that Bully is the best game Rockstar Games has ever produced.
Okay, let's not get crazy.

Yah I don't know. I got it and played it and as fun as it was I eventually lost interest and never finished it which has not happened to me on any other Rockstar game to date. I mean I beat Manhunt 2..on the PSP...
Don't know where Patricks crazy obsession with Bully comes from.
Bully is the only Rockstar game I've ever completed. It's much better than GTA. Usually about halfway through a GTA game I get tired of the characters & the story and focus more on the world, and the side stuff, which is usually pretty cool.
With Bully, it was different. The characters were great... and the story, while not complicated, had some really nice presentation to it, and really benefited from the excellent soundtrack behind it.

I need to finish that game, played a whole bunch of the Wii version but never finished it.
same here. i've liked it so far but only play it when my wife isn't home because she doesn't like to hear it.

Dude...Bully and The Warriors was an awesome era of rockstar gaming.
I kinda skipped Bully, I tried it but it just didn't stick so I never made it too far. Maybe I'll think about it sometime, like if there's another barren desert in Q3 2012 like there was this year...
Now The Warriors - that was awesome. The only beat 'em up I ever felt compelled to complete since maybe the original arcade version of Double Dragon. Thanks for the reminder on that billyhoush, I had forgotten it...great game.
As one of the select few who champions Bully as Rockstar's finest hour on the PlayStation 2 (yes, it's even better than San Andreas), this news makes me very happy. Here's hoping we'll get to see Rockstar working their magic in that schoolyard environment once again.
There's definitely some kind of story that they could wrap it around, but College just seems too easy. I love Jimmy Hopkins as a character, and I hope they stick with him for the main character. After the ending, I really want to see what he does with his life.
College is a little too easy though. What if he just has just graduated and has to find his first place to live, and start a real life. That would be something original and compelling, and definitely up Rockstar's alley.
If he's too much older, it really shouldn't even be called Bully anymore though, it should probably just be called Asshole.
Not sure you could sell that though.
I downloaded Bully again after the guys were talking about it on the Bombcast. I played 12 hours when it came out. Apart from frame rate issues and 5 years of passing time it still holds up pretty well. Started again rather than continuing the old save. Having a really good time with it.
The soundtrack was fantastic and gave the game an identity. Here's hoping that if a Bully 2 were to exist, Shawn Lee would be back on board.
Patrick-
I think you might be reading this wrong.
So it was really waiting for the slot to open up and the group to open up to at least start work on it.
The slot he is referring to is the slot for Max. At the top of the question DH said this-
Gamasutra: Can you discuss the catalyst that made you decide its time to bring Max back and do more with him?
DH: Basically we have been meaning to start it for a while, but we have limited bandwidth and limited studios, and more games to make than we've started. So suddenly it was a good slot.
Jimmy goes to prison. Calling it now.
It almost certainly won't happen, but I'd like to be the guy that can say "told ya so" for once.
I hope nobody takes offense to this but, I will buy a new Bully game faster than the latest release of GTA; seriously if Bully made a return, I would run to the nearest store faster than a cheetah for it!
I've still never actually beaten the first one, but I would totally buy a sequel to Bully. That game was amazing.
I lost my save file for this on 360 two years ago, but now I'm up for another run....after I've finished Skyrim, Halo CEA, MW3, BF3, Dead Island and and....oh fuck!
This "game" spread disinformation about youth on an un-PRECEDENTED level! CHILDREN ARE NICE AND ALWAYS HAPPY AND NEVER PSYCHOTIC OR VIOLENT AT ALL, and they're CERTAINLY not SEXUAL and LIE AND CHEAT TO GET THEIR WAY!
I loved Bully. It somehow managed to be incredibly honest in between all its parody. The shitstorm it stirred up was maddening to watch though.
