So This Game is not to great
So far the voice acting muddy textures and bland gameplay also the story seems to have been mish mashed together i have yet to complete it though so naturally i have not had the complete impression yet but its 5 in the morning so i should really get some sleep queued up for 2 hours to get the bloody game as well!
Okay, this is not a troll post. Bear with me. My friend has a modded xbox and has downloaded this game, along with MW3 on a private server. I don't really support these things, but being offered to play a bit of Skyrim before hand, I said what the heck and went to his house. First thing I noticed ; the textures. This game is 3.2 gigs only, and that explains a lot. I mean, only 3.2 gigs!? Damn. I expected it to be at least 10-12 gigs like MW3. A lot of textures are really blurry and low-res, even the left hand of your character ; my glove only had a blotched grey/white texture on it. So I thought that my friend had some alpha leak of the game, but he assurmed me it was very well indeed the retail code. Also, I keep hearing that Skyrim will get a day one patch. Maybe they will adress the textures and other fuglyness of the game?
Oh, thank god I stopped on the GB forums! I was literally seconds away from leaving to go pick up a copy of Modern Warfare 3, I saw this thread title, and thought better of it! Thank you good sir, you've just saved me $60!
@Wrighteous86: sarcasm? i just had a small amount of hope that it might have been a tiny bit good alas my dreams have been dashed asunder !
Thats the beauty of all having an opinion. I personally would much rather play battlefield multiplayer i guess i have just been spoiled by the beautiful graphics fantastic gameplay brilliant maps and weapons!

It would help your argument if you were to elaborate on all of the reasons why it's a disappointment.
i am going to be honest with you i have not tried out the spec ops modes yet if they are anything like modern warfare 2's thats something i could get in to.

If you're only talking about the single player, I don't care in the least. But yeah, if you're going to post a negative option, your original post should be a bit more than "I don't like it, because I don't".
Sorry to hear that your not enjoying your purchase, though. That's always a pain for any gamer.
I was also hoping for a great single player experience and so far am pretty unimpressed and i appreciate the fact they have tried to mix things up in multiplayer but it all feels very stale and not a lot of fun.
You don't actually have a single achievement in either the 360 or steam version of the game at this point, which would indicate that you haven't exactly gotten very far? Maybe a little early for a judgement call on the quality of the game.I am not trolling i just dont particularly like the game i purchased it for pc and am not really enjoying it thus far Then again its my own fault for buying it ! also because i purchased it for pc i cant take it back which has wound me up slightly then again i should have used brain power and i wouldn't have been in this situation in the first place.
Am I the only one around here getting tired of people misspelling the word "too"???
"the game is not to great" irritates me... In this sentence the word "to" should have 2 o's TOO!!!!!!!
Christ people, figure it out

If you think the gameplay is bland in MW3, then how in the world did you enjoy CoD4 and MW2? It is the same gameplay from those two games.

If any other franchise had the same gameplay for 5 games in a row, then I'm sure it'd be bland too. I'm pretty bored of call of duty at this point too, I'm gonna wait till I get back into the whole multiplayer mentality before I bother with it. So many better games to play just now.
@bluecollaralaskan: Terribly sorry my punctuation and grammar has and possibly always will be terrible.
@redbliss: I guess i hadn't got sick and tired of it by that point also lets be honest call of duty 4 was awesome!
@bybeach: I am pretty sure i had read a similar thread i would still purchase the game regardless. To quote the bombcast "above and beyond the call of duty ahhh the power of marketing"

@Manatassi: I can assure you i have, i dont think the feed has updated itself yet.
To give you some credibility, I've been a nice guy for you: SteamCommunity
Although, an hour played and the first two levels really just says that you didn't really try the game and just passed a quick 5 second judgment. That's like saying that you played "FNG" and "Crew Expendable" and decided that CoD4 was not the business, or like playing "SSDD" and "Team Player" to decide that MW2 was rubbish before there's any semblance of plot development.
If you're trying to say action-wise, CoD's been the same since at least CoD4; nothing gameplay-wise has changed short of weapon balancing.

Yes I agree Battlefield 3 did set the marketing tone above and beyond Call of Duty..quite right.
@Aus_azn: I am a big believer in first impressions it really hasn't grabbed me in anyway what so ever so far, although maybe thats sleep deprivation talking.

To each their own, I guess. I'd have thrown Lost Odyssey, FF13 or any RPG at a wall, had that been my opinion.
That's why I never go to midnight launches. They're never worth it. The one time I did, I went, picked up the goods, then came back home and slept.

Even still, you've yet to describe in a coherent manner why you think the game is not great. I don't really care anymore.

Same here. Whenever I see incoherent ramble, I envision this.
@Aus_azn: You make a very fair point! but with notoriously short campaigns that the call of duty franchise has become associated with, you would have thought they would have tried to grab you in the first couple of missions i am on the 3rd mission but thought i best get some shut eye.
@Manatassi: I think your right i guess i just got a little bummed out about the game so far hopefully i am just being pessimistic!

Not to be a dick (though I'm going to be one), judging from your first post those two things are the same to me.
Explain why you like or dislike something. Otherwise what you have to say is irrelevant.

Pro tip, mate: if you want to make sure that you don't sound "troll-y", using some semblance of grammar is a must, otherwise you sound little better than a 12-year-old.
Works the same way that your idea of first impressions with the game does: if you give us a reason to believe that you're a troll (or have no clue what you're on about) in the OP post, you'll see that people will see you as such, regardless of the context or content of your post. I know that I surely did.
