how many of you guys have found and then been killed by one of these foul monstrosities?

I just found my first one personally

I've found about 4 or 5, and I've only been killed by 1.

I attack every chest before I open it just in case, but once I was using a spear and I guess it thrust just over the chest and hit the wall behind it. I thought it was safe and opened it, then instant death :(

I still think insta-kill chests are kinda cheap. I know it's easy to avoid if you know to look for them, but still.

Cheap in a kinda awesome way though.

Since getting killed by one, I shoot all chests with an arrow from a safe distance first now, that triggers them. The mimic chests are a little discolored as well, if you see two of them side by side you can spot the difference.

Well, after the first one, how could you not attack every chest you find?

I haven't gotten killed by one, but they scare me. They kick hard too. By far one of the scariest mimics imagined.
