Neither had a significant effect on sales either way I'm sure. And they really shouldn't care about that but instead about properly informing their audience. If that in turn has an effect, positive or negative, on sales, so be it, but that shouldn't be the goal. Attract advertisers by being good at what you do which means your audience trusts your judgement, which means your audience increases, which means a lot of advertisement views and clicks (whether the adverts are of video games or not) and in turn revenue. Not by specifically trying to please publishers by having a direct effect on the sales of their particular products.

Uh...'scuse me but if you're taking anything Jim Sterling says with much gravity, you're doing it wrong.

From the way I've heard Jeff and Ryan talk about Destructoid (obviously I don't know for sure), it sounds like they are a fan of some of the Destructoid crew, most notably Nick Chester. But I've also heard Ryan make some pretty clearly negative comments towards some Jim Sterling articles.  For the record, I've always thought Jim Sterling is was total goddamn imbecile. This only further strengthens my feelings. "

I'm pretty sure Jim and Ryan hate each other, but you often see GB tweeting towards the rest of Destructoid and vice versa.

If he was talking about the BR endurance run, he's kinda right i feel. At the end of the day, there will be people who don't dig DP's weird vibe, and there will be those that do. I happen to really enjoy what DP has to offer, and if i get a chance to play it, i will definently take it.

That's enough hate for one thread, I think. Wow. Constructive criticism is one thing, but stuff like "Eat a dick" is a little inappropriate. Yikes.
