Blood from the mouth
----Round two----
Duke can an will bring the Man character you have been neglecting to play through, Egotistical Maniac. It's not at all in a narcissistic way nor does it fail by falling flat like the Duke copy cats out there. Duke is duke an he does what he wants baby. Round two is all about staying focused on that. The first loading screen came in handy, I went an did somethings I needed to do, an then when I got tired of that I had Duke as a reward. I played Doom but not Duke because I thought Duke was stupid back then. I've opened up my mind a lot since then.
I've never seen such an epic start up of a game. It's a press spacebar to continue game. I love that part, you don't see it much anymore. It took a while to load it does that we know about it. After it loads it runs for a good long time an across epic scale like I never seen. All seamlessly while also providing support for whatever Duke would ever want to do along with all the things that would happen to Duke durring those times. Don't forget there's a FPS game in there as well. The main problem with Duke is if you get into a hurry, you miss 75% of the game.
The game engine was very impressive. Unreal just has done so many things that we never though games could do. Getting to play a game that's made for PC in mind first, or well, at least it was when it started is so rare these days. Much less a old school title you always wondered about. The rumor that textures are lame is incorrect. Some of the best texture work I've ever seen. It lacks the new more modern aesthetic, because it was mostly created durring the ultra realistic boom. That is quickly overlooked by the splendid effects an perfect physics.
I gave Duke 5 stars because it's a 5 star development at least on the PC for sure. The unique experience alone is worth the price an long loading times. If you played Borderlands then you probalby hated it at first. Then you realized how stupid you were to even think that about the greatest game ever made which you totally got addicted too. Playing DNF isn't like that at all, you love it from the very start an get to see some of the "I thought that was impossible" things that can be done with unreal. Accept no substitute.
