While modern chemistry defines 118 atomic elements, video games more often deal with classical elements as described in ancient philosophy, mainly fire, water, earth, and air. In many games, each element is stronger against certain elements, but weaker against others.

Dwarves are a short, stout race that appear in any number of fantasy games and stories. They are almost always depicted as short with bushy beards similar to vikings. They can also be identified by their love for ale and gold. Fairies appear in many games, usually as a race that will assist players with magic. Fairies are almost exclusively female.
Genies, which originated from Arabia, are supernatural creatures that are magical and many can grant wishes. Some have a lamp or bottle and the owner of said item has power over them, including forcing them back into it and making them stay there.
Geomancers use their magic to interact with and alter nature and the world around them, destroying their enemies with the power of Mother Earth.
These spooky entities are the spirits of the dead, returned from beyond their graves for generally sinister purposes. There's generally about even odds whether a particular ghost will be helpful or malevolent towards the living, but some ghosts just want to be left alone entirely.
Whether it be Mario vs. Bowser, Jedi vs. Sith, Link vs. Ganon, or Elves vs. Orcs, the forces of good are in an eternal battle with the hordes of evil.

The Kreegans are a parasitic alien species and sworn enemies of the Ancients. Though their origins and purpose are shrouded in mystery, their plan is simple: They travel, they land, and then they conquer.
A lich is a powerful sorcerer who became undead through a magical ritual they cast on themselves. Usually lichdom is achieved to extend their "lives" or give themselves more power. They can control vast hordes of undead.

Mythical Creature with the face of a man, the body of a lion, sometimes with wings and a tail that can shoot spikes. Other times it has a snake for a tail or a scorpions tail.
