Is IO teasing a Hitman announcement on Twitter?

Sooo...this happened

Too much to hope that it's season 2? I can't imagine what else it would be unless they're teasing some mobile game or a Switch port or some other anti-climactic news.

Fingers crossed this Hitman is "boots on the ground." I was getting tired of all the wallrunning.

The consumer side of me says i hope its a new game, since they just put out a yet another version of this game on the 15th with the subtitle "Definitive Edition." I think it would be a little crappy on OI's part if they made a new edition which only added an outfit pack upping the price back to $60 for a 2 year old game, then put out a new season 12 days later that's not included with your "definitive edition." But the gamer in me says "hell yeah some more Hitman."

And preferably something set in modern times; I've had it up to here with all the sci-fi bullshit.

Hope we get a nice tease/trailer tomorrow. This is one of my most anticipated E3 games.

Hmm. Possible. On IO's Facebook page, they posted a little video of them playing Freedom Fighters. I want another Freedom Fighters... It'd be nice to see it be on Steam/GOG or now backward compatible on the One. Freedom Fighters is still my favorite IO game, and I'm really happy IO still has the rights to it. I liked the latest Hitman. It surprised me, but contrary to popular opinion, it didn't have a lot of replay value for me.

@shagge: 100 Agent 47s land on an island, each with one other Agent 47 as their target. Killing the wrong target also kills you. Once the proper target is killed, a new target is assigned.

Spicy Chicken Dinner by killing all targets as specified (axe, ejector seat, soup can, fire extinguisher, poison sushi, etc.)

It makes me happy thinking of Hitman Battle Royale. The weapon meta would be absurd. Reddit threads comparing the relative effectiveness of spaghetti sauce cans, fire extinguishers and castration knives.

I thought this was just some lazy weekend tweet when I saw it, but obviously I’d love for it to be something else.

I'm actually hoping for a multiplayer mode that blows us all away, more than Season 2

To be fair, it could be nothing...which now, having thought about it, makes me want to change the thread title. However, there was also this tweet the day before:

Glancing thru their history, they don't really post a lot of jokey tweets and the few that are there are very obvious jokes. I think it's the gifs in conjunction with what's written that makes these two tweets seem weirdly cryptic to me. I dunno, I could be reaching lol. I've just been dying for some more Hitman.

Hope so, even if it just means we get more Hitman on the site.

Alright, this is promising now. Give me more 47, even if I'm worried that we'll just get a CGI trailer and a "2019" release date...but then again, they are very likely sticking to the engine they already have, so I guess some gameplay could be shown as well.

Some people more motivated than me are doing digging in regards to WB announcing something on the 7th day.

I've gotten all the suits, the Ave Marie Sniper Rifle, the antigue syringes, done Professional Suit Only on pretty much all of the missions. I think I'm ready for a Season 2 now or whatever they wanna call the next Hitman.

Also it really bums me out that Warner Bros are the ones publishing this for their infamously bad track record regarding game publishing.

Now to just ponder if this’ll be episodic or a return to the original form.

Dream scenario would be a ”complete” game in the vein of Blood Money, but with elusive targets and such remaining. Add amazing Sapienza-like maps to that and GOTY is sealed.

I’m expecting a 2019 release date, but it *has* been year and a half since last episode came out, so I’m...potentially hopeful. Guess we’ll know for sure very soon.

So Hitman 7 is Hitman 2? Wonderful. Looking forward to it.

@dudeglove: Will be interesting to see what the business model for this game is. Warners has had a ton of missteps over the years with this kind of stuff:

• Batman Arkham City - Catwoman DLC
• Batman Arkham Knight - $40 season pass filled with crap
• Mortal Kombat X - microstransactions
• Middle Earth Shadow of War - microtransactions
• and so on...

@colonel_pockets: in fairness, those missteps are in line with the prevailing trends at the time.

hopefully they stick to the episodic model. just do what they did the first time around, with all new content. Hitman took off in a way it seemingly hadn't before, so let's not fuck it up.

Looks like this theory is on point. The target looks to be an F1 driver. Tomorrow will surely bring more details.

Teasing this in a similiar style as elusive targets is making me kinda curious. If they are going to continue the season route, it would be pretty great from them to announce that a new map gets released during E3 or right after it.
