Thanks. And i have read through this entire topic, a topic i made out of respect for the community, and all i've seen is the same trend in most of the posts. "Bomb Squad isn't spam, it had good discussion, unlock the thread, mods suck, Karmum is sucking up, trolls shouldn't have been the reason it was locked etc".

whatever your motives/reasoning might have been, just know that you guys have probably done more harm than good today...

I think the mods just had a lot to deal with, a lot of off-topic threads like the "rate this thread" stuff and the WAYLT, and in their decisions they decided BS had to go to. I think maybe BS's closure was, in part, due to the overwhelming day of trolls.

I think some of the mods are seeing the BS thread as a way to up our post counts, but a lot of us don't care about the post counts and that's why saying "hello, goodbye," etc. isn't that big of a deal to them. If there was a way to disable post counts, I don't think most of us BombSquaders would care, but I can't speak for everyone.

And to add onto that there are limits to what can be discussed. And everyday "life" stuff, while fun for some, is generally best left for websites like Myspace and blogs etc. Off Topic is not you're personal social networking place, perhaps if people posted more in the game related boards they could discuss things and make friends and socialise.

You're right, I guess it is inconvenient...that's why we primarily suggested IRC as a substitute for chatting on the forums.  You can say goodnight to everyone that's in IRC!"

Ok kids i intended to make this topic for some mature discussion and out of courtesy for the community. And while it started off fine for awhile its turned into mod bashing, flaming and borderline trolling. So with that i'm closing it down, if anyone wishes to discuss the matter in a mature fashion then i suggest you send me a PM.
