This is my most popular level; I recommend you turn visible comments off as the literal first comment I got spoils the level and the location the comment is in spoils it, too. You can add a spoiler tag to someone's comment, and it makes the text not immediately visible, but the location of it can't be erased, as far as I can tell. It's a bummer, but please turn them off for your first go-through. It's basically just one puzzle and one platforming sequence, so it's no Ryckoning, if you're worried.
I have a few more, and even a few more that I like, but those are the one's worth playing. My most recently uploaded level is just something I thought was funny and stupid and literally takes no effort to beat, so if you want to see something dumb, check out Justice is Served.
Came up with an idea for a prequel to my last level.
"The Horrors of War" Mario has seen some shit during his time as a soldier during the Great Mushroom Kingdom War, and every night it haunts him. Guide him through his tortured memories so that he can see another day.
My latest level which was uploaded last night prevented me from checking out some levels from the previous couple of pages, but they have been bookmarked and I will get to them eventually. My most recent level took a rather long time to upload, which is mainly thanks to not being able to use the checkpoints during the upload process. If you like challenging levels that push some of the mechanics surrounding spin jumps and using P-switches and POW blocks in interesting ways then hopefully you will enjoy this level. I'd imagine the clearance rate on this one to be extremely low.
Hey Guys made two new levels both are in Mario World, i feel like im at 1-7 and 1-8 so things are getting a little bit harder, both are very mario style world nothing crazy, but this ones get a little bit harder, and one is my first Bowser castle, still dont have all the tools, by my next world should have all the tools to make my biggest world yet.
Ignoring the common advice of "never buy a console just for one game", I bought a Wii U for Mario Maker. :) I've been playing the levels on this forum and decided to start creating some of my own. I don't have everything unlocked but I'm trying to work with what I have.
Philosophy: I'm an Old School Mario player and as such I like traditional levels. Difficult platforming with some twists but no out right "F-You; you have one chance at this do it right!" kind of things.
I made a new level based around kicking shells to advance. It's proof of concept rather than real level at this point. Also I am at 49 stars so I would definitely appreciate if you took a look at any of my other levels and gave me a Star if you think I deserve it.
Description of Gameplay Elements: A puzzle platformer whose main focus is utilizing the buzzy beetle's shell as a helmet. Each challenge has an expert challenge which rewards the player with a 1-up (Completely optional)

@katpottz: I got through the swarm, grabbed the p-switch and raccoon tail, then hit the Koopa around the blocks. When I tried to glide down, the whole mafia of Boos were there and knocked me in the lava lol. At that point I almost threw the game pad
I have a few new levels I made in the last few days. One is a Kaizo level. An actual Kaizo level, based on the first game. It really isn't even that hard, compared to some of the levels people are putting out lately. It's my first level that's actually classified as Super Expert though.
I'd really like some feedback on Trick Jumpin'. I made this level with the intent of it being a speedrun level, so once you learn it a little bit you can figure out the ideal path through the level, and have very little downtime. This is an NSMB level. I've grown to love the mobility of NSMB in this game.
Donut Caverns - My personal favorite. A little older, and it's a fairly traditional level, but I feel like it's a lot of fun. Maybe I'm wrong?
Also, you know, feel free to look at the other levels on my profile. I'd love feedback on anything. I always look at who plays my levels and bookmark any levels they have that sound interesting. This is one of the best ways I've found to find new levels actually.
Guys just made my first truly hard level, is a mario world mario style level, no crazy stuff or cheap shots, just hard platforming, the level was actually much longer but had to cut some stuff because it was extremelly hard and could not upload :) i still keep the original version in hopes to someday upload it, but for now this one is good
Finally cleared my first real level and uploaded it last night. Spent two weeks tweaking and testing. It's not perfect, far from it, but I'm really happy with what I ended up making. Check it out please!
@meteora3255: I played like all of your levels, some really fantastic stuff in there. Love the levels that feel like they could be real.
I'm trying to Star and check out as many levels here as I can. One of the cool things I'm finding is the inspiration gained from playing and seeing so many creative levels.
This is an older level I made that only has 1 completion from 500 attempts. I didn't expect it to be this challenging. You basically are against the clock in this level as you have to reach the end before the P-doors vanish.
@themasterds The Blue Shell Incident is a really well designed level. At first I thought there was too many enemies, but once you get the clown car and make your way back through the level it really works well. The level makes very good use of using the same areas more than once.
Hm. I made a dumb Wiggler zoo level and thought it was pretty easy and silly, but now that it's been up long enough for Mario Maker Bookmark to give me stats, it seems that it's way harder than I thought it was with a 3.33% clear rate. I'm guessing people have trouble with the Wigglers on tracks. I still like it, though...maybe try it? I think you'll have fun, but I'm kinda biased.
I tend to just start with a goofy idea and see where I can run with it. I'd say the Buzzy one is my personal favorite. Any feedback is appreciated, as my expectations for which levels will rate better than others are, more often than not, wrong.
This is my new course it's called Mario's airship delivery the clue is in the name. Give it a try just a good ol airship level with a slight twist at the end.
Hey ya'll! I made a few levels that are pretty difficult but fun and (I believe) pretty cool! I was definitely inspired by Dan's devious works but I have a beating heart so you'll also find checkpoints.

Hope you enjoy!
EDIT: Here's a link to my Mario Maker profile if you wanna bookmark them easily there!
Its based on that POW Block trick from one of the Giant Bomb Makes Mario levels. Not especially hard, but it should take a few spins to get through it.
@devise22: Thanks. I too have a huge list of bookmarks to get through from this thread. There are just so many ideas I am seeing I never would have thought of. Even the levels I haven't enjoyed as much has 1 or 2 things I think are cool and want to use in my own levels.
Hey guys, I made four levels that I'd like to share with you. I try to make my levels challenging but fair (for the most part (although I'm working on a new level that is batshit insane)) so here they are! They're platforming levels (I almost never use invisible blocks or things like that) so it's just a matter of skill and perseverance. (shamelessly stealing Yashooo's presentation because it looks really neat)
Description of Gameplay Elements: Several ways to beat this level, which I didn't know until after I uploaded it. I initially wanted to delete and reupload it without the various exploits but I eventually felt that this level was fine the way it was.
Description of Gameplay Elements: This is my hardest level yet. It took me two days to upload it (its original title was "I hate this level"). Run and jump. You've got 100 seconds. I'm sorry.
Stats: 0 stars/18 players ; 0 clears/51 attempts

Has anyone had any of their levels removed by Nintendo? I have now had two of my levels removed without any explanation as to why. After reading the recent Kotaku article by @patrickklepek I think one of my levels must have been removed because it had the word 'Like' in the title. The full title of the level was 'Like A Bullet Train' and was a short level that required quick completion, hence the name. It seems common sense would suggest I wasn't trying to obtain stars by using the word like in this instance.
Today, I had another level removed, 'The Entryway Enigma: Round II', which I think a few people from this thread had played. It had 0 completion from around 150 attempts, so I'm guessing it was removed for being too difficult, despite there being much harder levels out there.
Anyway, that left a space for me to upload a new level, which is even harder than the one removed. I thought I would make a kaizo style level, minus hidden blocks, and with a couple of checkpoints. The difficulty in the level is front loaded, with each subsequent section after each checkpoint becoming easier.
I made my first course! Mr. Thwomp needs your help! Mr. Thwomp and I would both be very appreciative if you played the level!

So at some point I noticed the original version of my course here was easily breakable, so I made a couple small changes that I think fix my oversights:
