SO was just reading some news over at the Dream Theater webite (www.dreamtheater.net) when I stumbled across Mike Portnoy's casual announcement that DT will be writing a track for GoW3 (he actually calls it God's of War 3 (so im guessing he personally plays 'tons' of games...)).
Grammar/Ignorance aside, this is such a fantastic pairing. The Kratos playing along to the tunes (albeit tunes in odd time signatures, strange meter changes and off the hook technical proficiency) of Dream Theater is just so perfect.
MORE PLEASE.
Im going to start practicing ripping centaurs in half whilst rocking out in in 6/8.
God of War III
Game » consists of 14 releases. Released Mar 16, 2010
God of War III puts players back in the role of Kratos to continue his brutal and bloody war against Olympus as he sets his sights on Zeus himself.
GoW3 + Dream Theater = Game for Gods, by Gods?
This would be amazing, however James Labrie has one of the worst singing voices I have ever heard and I really dont think it would be that great to hear him in the background of an epic battle. This is coming from a huge DT as well. I have gotten used to Labrie over the years but honestly, he is a square peg amongst shining golden circles.
I just hope it's instrumental, whilst I like James Labrie's voice I can't imagine any God of War song with actual English vocals (apart from the main theme)
*Huge Dream Theater Fan*
I personally liked LaBrie's voice before he fucked it up ... It was just before they performed at the Budokan , right ?
In any case I think they could pull it off well , just .... no singing . Please . Portnoy solos plz :3
Would just like to add for the curiousity of any other Dream theater fans , My favourite song would be Metropolis Pt. 1 . I'd love to hear other peoples favourites as none of teh people I know listen to them :P
If it;'s instrumental and only used once it could be a good thing. But GoW has had consistently great BG music since the beginning.
You can't have God of War without a choir and an orchestra going nuts while you slay Gods. Otherwise it might feel like Prince of Persia with Godsmack.
If they actually imbraced the style of the game, making it sound somewhat like the music in there, it could be awesome. But it probably won't. I guess we'll have to wait and see though.
Like some others, I have to say, better than Korn.

I would be a huge DT fan (seeing as the other members are unequivocal masters of their instruments) if not for that dude.

afaik, it's an instrumental. Rudess posted about it recently. "" I just hope it's instrumental"
