Dad of War
Initially I did not have a very good impression from playing this game. Coming straight off of playing the rest of the series it's very clear that this game is something completely different. Whether you like or dislike the previous games in the series one thing GoW was very successful at was having it's own identity and I feel that has somewhat been lost in this offering dropping it's combat frenzied anger simulator to become another Naughty Dog adventure.
Once you get past all that it's a fine game.
Gorgeous world, absolutely fantastic characters and acting, mind blowing presentation overall.
I enjoyed the story but it very much felt like the first arc of a three part story, as the game ended it didn't even feel like the big bad had even made an appearance yet.
The talents/equipment/upgrades didn't feel impactful, if I had money I bought them if not it really didn't seem to matter.
The combat seems like it should be more tactical than previous games and when I played trying to be mindful/purposeful I was having a hard time and dying a lot, once I gave in and just started jamming on the controls it became much easier.
Despite it's flaws or my expectations, this game definitely won me over and I'm looking forward to more.
