Games with this concept focus on diversifying items for different play styles and classes, usually found on hack and slash games and MMOs.

A meter measured much like HP that depletes when you use magic, and depending on the game, regenerates over time or can only be regenerated through rest or potions. Mana is usually displayed as a blue bar beneath it's red counterpart, the HP bar.
Sports games that feature pre-existing videogame characters, rather than real athletes.
An opponent that typically appears around the halfway point in a level. Mini-Bosses are more formidable than the average opponent, though normally not as tough as the end-level Boss.
Mythological creatures with the body of the human and the head of a bull. They are often found in video game dungeons, waiting for foolhardy players to stumble upon their lairs. Sometimes they're mindlessly violent, other times they're oddly peaceful and in tune with the world around them.

Parallax scrolling is a scrolling effect used in video game graphics, employing multiple scrolling layers to create the illusion of depth, for a pseudo-3D effect in an otherwise 2D scrolling game.
