    A good palate cleanser.

    Looking for something to play while you await the next big release? Grow Home may be for you. Its whimsical nature encourages you to explore the game world at your own pace. And screwing up isn't the worst thing in the world. At most, you'll have to climb up to where you were before, which isn't bad, given that you're unlocking the teleporters. The physics based controls of B.U.D. (Botanical Utility Droid) will lead to some weird animation and movement, which means it's probably not for everybody.

    It took me under five hours to complete the main objective, but it gives you more to do afterwards if you're inclined to keep playing. It's a nice little distraction.

      I was really expecting to like this game. I like inventive games and new ideas. It's got a great style and premise, and it tries some new things, but in reality it's not a great experience. That wasn't to say I didn't like some things about the game. What I did like was the art and the idea that the player has some agency in how the red flower shoots grow, changing the world somewhat in the process.
