Hello Zombie
Left 4 Dead Review
Valve previously famous for their Half life franchise, has now once again hit the nail on the head with Left 4 Dead, a zombie first person shooter. These aren't your every day slow moving zombies, no, they are your fast paced 28 days later zombies, and will not go down without a fight.
In the game there are for survivors, the first one is Louis. Louis is a African American office worker. Bill is a retired veteran from Nom. Fransic. And Zoe a horror film fanatic. You can play by your self, online with friends thought the steam community, search for a game with strangers or play verses mode. Once you are in the game you will find that easy and normal are not the way to go because they are so easy, and advanced and expert are the only way to play the game. Because if you don't you will find the games short play through time ranging from four to eight hours, but that is not the point for left four dead just being able to just steam roll through it. The whole point of Left 4 dead is to just barely make it out and survive and on expert you will have lots of death giving you a good fifty or so hours on expert if you are playing the way I am. Plus there is the newly announced DLC that will be coming out shortly.
You might be thinking, that you will be seeing the same old zombies over and over with no diversity, but there you are wrong, there is actually five boss types. First the Boomer the fat on that will come up to you and barf on you causing a horred of sixty or so zombie to come after you. Next the Smoker he will through his tongue out and snatch you or your team mates into strangling them. Then the Witch, what looks like a little girl is really a zombie, and if she is startled it only take one of her hits to put you out for the count. After that there is the Hunter who will leap at you and pin you down proceeding to rip you up until a team mate knocks him off. Then the worst of all the tank! He is pretty much the hulk but in zombie form, nuff said.
Then there is the added verses mode lets one team of four zombies and one team of survivors play against each other on one of the four story missions with a clock ticking, once the time is up the team is reworded with points depending upon if they survived and how much damage they did.
Also included with all of this is the best part about the game, is the AI director witch means that if you play through on part one time there could be a pack of zombies and another there could be nothing but with weapons and at any random time there could be a horred or a tank, this system also can help you out and take account in how well you are doing so if you aren't doing so hot it might give you some weapons or ammo.
On the graphics side they aren't great because they are running on the somewhat dated source engine, but Valve has been able to squeeze a few particle effects and lighting effects in there to add some. But that's not necessarily a bad thing because then even on slower computers you will still be able to play it in a reasonable frame rate.
So overall it's a great game and any zombie, horror or action fan you should check it out.

Story: 8/10 (There really is no story but the way they are presented is good)
Graphics: 9/10 (Nothing Crysis but still looks appealing)
Enjoyment: 9/10
