As Yahtzee calls it "Airstrikes 2: Hooray for Airstrikes"

Mercenaries 2 is the sequel to "Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction" which many claimed to be one of the best PS2 games. The sequel takes place in Venezuela with the returning characters and more Airstrikes.

The story: Quite frankly, it's bad. You want revenge for someone who didn't pay you and shot you in the ass, sounds good? No. So you take missions from different factions to locate where Solano is. And that's about it.

Gameplay: It's a third person shooter with lots of guns, vehicles and Airstrikes. Your missions is mostly go here and blow this up or rescue this person, it's not varied but it's not bad either. How you do the mission is up to you; If you want to blow it up, do it. If you want to go shotgun blazing, alright, and the list goes on. The problem with the missions is the AI. Say its a rescue mission, your teamate jumps off buildings, wont get in your vehicle, and runs into enemy fire. Which makes them hard, while the "Kill this dude" missions is too easy, the AI is so stupid that they'll wait for you to hijack their vehicles and waits to get shot. The shooting feels inaccurate, driving feels weird, and overrral, the gameplay could have been better. Luckily co-op makes up for it. But killing another faction takes away much of the fun, sure its fun to go on a killing spree but kill too many and you'll have to bribe them. And that's ALOT of money.

Graphics: Is decent, some textures looks bland, character animation can be a little choppy. But the lighting and explosions is great, water also looks incredible. The real flaw is the glitches, there are way too many, one time i picked up a sniper and he was holding it like a handgun, an enemy got stuck in a wall and called for backup.

So the graphics are "meh", with so many glitches it's clear to say that it is unfinished.

Overall: Well, if you love ridicules stunts or explosions or have someone to play with. It's atleast worth a rent. But if you were a huge fan of the first, then it's probably worth buying.

From start to finish, this is a tale of revenge… for a butt cheek. Mattias Nilsson gets contracted to infiltrate a compound and liberate a captured general. Job done and for his trouble he gets a bullet lodged in his ass. Not taking this sitting down, for obvious reason, Nilsson accumulates throughout the game enough arsenal to start his own army. Could be because he got betrayed, or could be because he gets what he deserves, either way Mattias won't stop till he gets payback. A story of reve...
