Duders, Activision is going to make so much money from these map packs, you should be happy for how rich they will become.

Heck, you could use that $15 to buy Bad Company 2 which is $46.99 for the 360 on Amazon for 20 hours only.

    Just saying.

They overcharged you for the game, why wouldn't they test the waters again and overcharge you for the map pack? I hope anyone complaining about it actually takes the step not to buy it. If sales were low, they might think about their pricing plans.

Major Nelson annoys me.  I don't know if it is Larry himself or his company voice, but after he defended the $160 price tag of the 120gig hdd and said it was totally justified and MS was not gouging us, I gave him the virtual finger.

Now, as for the map pack, F' that noise.  So they want to release at least 2 of these.  That means that is an extra 30 dollars and maybe even a 3rd map pack for a total of $45 extra bucks... No thanks.

Fuck Activision or whoever else jacked up the price. I bought the CoD4 maps but fuck this crap. $15 bucks for 5! maps?? and let's not forget, 2 of the maps are old ones from CoD4. $15 bucks for 3 NEW maps is messed up. If you were smart, you wouldn't buy them and cause it to flop but that's not going to happen, so i won't urge you to.

If you enjoy playing Modern Warfare 2, have at it but this is the last straw, I'm done with this crap. I'll probly still pop it in every few months but BC2 is going to be in the tray from now on.

To be honest, I'm fine with the maps that are already out and I think you'd have to be mad to even consider buying this DLC. $15 for 5 new maps would be highly questionable, but for only 3 new ones and 2 old ones it's downright insulting.

I just traded in my copy of Modern Warfare 2 for like $43 when all was said and done at Gamestop and have never felt better.  I know it is bad for the industry but 3-4 map packs will make their money back but I did use the money for a new copy of Mass Effect 2.

1200ms points!!...I'm sorry but this is where it ends for me. They could have easily given Crash/Overgrown for free as way of thanks to the MW2 community, at least now I know why they call it the 'Stimulus' package....its to further stimulate Activision and Microsoft's profit margins. Unfortunately it was only a matter of time before corporate greed decided to rear its ugly head. Ah well, Bad Company 2 all the way for me.

@JDDrewes:  Better value??? Maps shouldn't cost anything.

But CoD fanboys are like sheep, they'll eat whenever is laid before them. They seemingly lack the ability to think objectively...  I keep bringing this up but United Offensive cost $40, and had better MP and a longer SP than Modern Warfare 2. The popularity of this game is destroying me as a long-time FPS  fan, it is killing the genre as a whole...

Ok sit back for a second. The single play mode is between 4-6 hours long. MP is buggy as fuck and full of hackers, and the main mode is TDM.

This game is "Basic Shooter-101" it's popular is because CoD4 was good and this game had a ridiculous marketing budget, not because it is any good

I'm not for sure that Activision can handle much more ill will toward them right now.  I have pretty much decided that they are the only company that I am going to actively search out used games from.  I like some of their games but the fact that it seems like over the last 2-3 months every time I see Activision or Kotick I know it is something that will make me mad or disappoint me and therefore I will feel better about myself knowing none of my money is going to them.

I'd probably buy this if I had the money. Yeah, I still play MW2, so what.

I wonder how bad the multiplayer is gonna suck for people who don't buy the maps. Will they just be kicked out of every game that uses one of the new maps?

Red Faction: Guerrilla offered (I believe) 5 NEW maps and two new modes for 560 points. Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts gave like 5 new maps, a new single player area (with like 20 missions), new multiplayer modes, and a new Klungo arcade game for 400 points.

Activision should take after their examples.

I find it insulting that people buy 3 maps for $10.

There were many warnings that it would be $10 for 3 maps one day, and the next it will be $15, etc... etc...

Gamers have this shit coming to them. You guys bought the fucking horse armor, you bought the increased level caps, you bought the overpriced map packs and now they increase the prices of the maps and you people are surprised?

No one's forcing you to buy these map packs.
If you really like MW2, then you'll support the game by paying a reasonable price for a reasonable amount.
Since no one on this thread claims to like MW2 in the first place, then i don't see what the big deal is. It's not like this is even necessary.

I have to restate nrain here, Bungie pulls 800 mp for 3 maps. I don't remember people complaining about that. On the other hand, everyone who will buy this pack most likely already own the last 2 through CoD4. It's obviously Activision's fault, but I don't think it's very clear cut good or bad.

5 maps for 15 bucks. 2 of which are Crash and Overgrown from CoD4.
Overpriced definitely, but if they sold a re-up of the DLC maps from CoD4, I would soo buy.

@SpaceInsomniac: That's why I said that Gears 2 is what this type of thing should be compared to rather than trying to compare it to Halo 3.  Gears 2 at least offered those maps as a pack-in with new copies of the game, which is something that Activision could've done as well.  Instead, they wanna charge 15 bucks for a load of bullshit.

I'm not buying it - MW2 okay and all but, I'll stick to DICE. They might fuck up their first week - or their first two weeks - but damn if they don't provide the fucking content for free, and thats more than you can say for Infinity Ward.

EA obviously withheld the next DLC from retail people just to capitalize on free publicity on Battlefield: Bad Company 2 since everyone knew the CoD:MW2 map pack #1 would be released in March (like the last 2 CoD's released their 1st map pack in). "Hurr Durr! You guys pay! Battlefield is free!".

Mapathy for everybody is quickly turning into apathy towards Activision/IW. Bet their marketing buffoons never saw that coming.

If people hate the $15 price tag don't buy the maps, I am sure there are people out there that will buy the maps at the end of the month. I am on the fence only cause I have a PS3 and have to wait for the maps but probably will pass on them. Maybe if the maps were $10 I would get them or at least seeing if the new maps are good first.
